  • Your well on your way to a good start :)

Apart from laying in this morning :rotfl:
  • Made it to work on time this morning, and I'm here for 12 hours, so thats 2¾ hours overtime - £28.68 :-)

Today is also a NSD - kind of enforced since my wallet is empty until the money for my old phone appears in my account - £115 from PRC Recycling for my old Blackberry whch I upgraded last month as an early C*****mas present to myself :)

Hoping for some nice roadkill today - getting addicted to the Sealed Pot Challenge!

  • I wish I'd discovered this board 12 months ago. After Christmas last year I made similar vows to pay off all my debt, and if I'd gone through and done it I wouldn't be sat here now counting pennies and doing 70+ hours a week!

By this time last year I was already feeling depressed, demotivated and the grand plan to pay everything off fizzled out after about 2 paydays.

This time however, I'm happier than I have been in years - I KNOW that I'm going to be debt free in 7 or 8 months - I said before that I thought this few weeks would be a drag, waiting to get paid, yet it's amazing the things I can do every single day, which help keep me going. It might be something as simple and seemingly insignificant like putting 5p of 'roadkill' into my sealed pot, but it really does help keep me going.

  • Today's NSD status has been revoked, as I decided to view my Equifax credit report. It didn't make for as grim reading as I'd expected to be honest. However it did yield up useful information such as the relevant dates for two loans which I'm looking into claiming PPI back from, so it's £2 well spent in my view.

  • Currently looking into claiming PPI from two loans paid off in 2009, from Lloyds TSB and Citi Financial. I had a fairly secure job when the loans were taken out (2004 and 2006 respectively), which pays full rate of pay for at least 6 months (checking this but pretty sure they do anyway). It was hinted at in both cases that they may not agree to credit if I didnt take the insurance - so I think I've got a good case...

Unfortunately I no longer have the policy numbers etc as threw out the paperwork a few months ago (d'oh!) so looks like I'll have to go down the Data Protection Act route to find out before I can actually claim :(

  • Checked my online banking this morning and I've been paid for my old phone... booked some gig tickets for £43.50, which will take care of next month's treats budget (my mate owes me half) :)

£30 paid towards my Aqua card, £40 is needed for work for next two weeks before payday (any change going in my sealed pot), leaving £1.50 so I've made a cheeky £1.50 micrpayment to Capital One.

Also I've set up payments ready for payday to pay my CCs.

Looks like your doing well :)
  • Thanks HI - I'm really trying - I'm determined I'm not going to be beaten this time. Old me would have taken the £115 from selling my phone, and squandered it... :o

  • Not really anything to report today - walked 12.5 miles so my new fitness regime is coming on ok :)

A mate has been badgering me to come to two gigs in March - but I'm resisting as I can't justify the cost to myself much as I'd like to go (already going to see Presidents of the USA so two more that month would be too much).

Back to work tomorrow for a massive 12 hours of overtime - thats £125.16 :T

  • Once again nothing much to report today... If I don't keep posting though I'll fade back into oblivion and go back to my old ways

12 hours OT at work today, after which I've got a 5.5 mile walk planned. Then I'm off to visit a friend - we're going for a long walk in the hills tomorrow
