  • loumac and mudbath - cute stories!! well, we went to the shelter and of course i fell in love with every dog there. the shelter's not like UK shelters, it's much starker and the dogs are cold and scared and stressed (and LOUD), it was quite upsetting :( the staff do their best though. but i think OH was expecting some beautiful dogs like the one we found, and wasn't too impressed with the ones there - i tried explaining to him that the dogs there are not at their best, to say the least, poor creatures (he's not as stupid as i'm making him out to be! i think he just had different expectations and the whole thing threw him a bit) and he admitted he feels like he's "test-driven a ferrari" with the dog we found, who was a beautiful golden retriever and clearly from a loving family - i told him we wouldn't get a brand new ferrari from the rescue shelter, but if we pick our dog, give it a good wash and groom, some training, and lots of love and attention, we can "restore the classic aston martin in him" ;)

but also we're not entirely sure we can make the commitment to a dog just yet so i think we're gonna leave it for the time being. <cries>

forgot to pad yesterday again what with all the emotional dog stuff (these things affect me far too much), so £2 today.

Just over £600 :(. Was really hoping to get it clear and then attack the next one which is on 0% until November and then a third cc is on 0% until Jan '13 and really want them sorted this time instead of doing my usual bouncing it off to a new deal. Although it's beginning to look like I'm not quite going to get there - partly because the extra payments come from OH's self employment and a big job he has on has got delayed slightly so will probably not pay out until after the o% finishes - we won't be far off and I don't think it will be worth paying a 3% transfer fee to shift about £500-£600 to one of the other cards. With no council tax for 2 months we should be able to crack it.

However, today's PAD of £25.13 is the minimum payment for one of the other cards which is frustrating as I'd rather chuck it at cc1 but there you go. :)

Hey - you've done really well though - well done you! :T

    Good morning,

    Sizeable sum from 12th Jan = £445.31

Well done everyone, I know it's hard at this time of year, especially when the weather is freezing cold like it is here this morning, but I think everyone is doing an amazing job with PAD-ding so far this month!

    Today's joke:

"So I was in my car, and I was driving along, and my boss rang up, and he said 'You've been promoted.' And I swerved.

And then he rang up a second time and said "You've been promoted again!' And I swerved again.

He rang up a third time and said 'You're now managing director.' And I went into a tree.

Then a policeman came up and said 'What happened to you?' So I replied 'I careered off the road.'
