It would seem that if you pay the minimum payment then they keep your credit rating the same or raise it, and if you pay off more they lower it...suppose they are giving the credit to people who are going to earn them money....bunch of *******!

I have been with them for about a year and always stayed at £750

Hi Mable, I have the same situation with BC. They say they cannot offer the BT to me but are prepared to let me have purchases/cash advance of £5.5k!! I asked what the difference was and the said it because BT is an unsecured loan to pay off other credit . I was still not the wiser!

The only reason they would be offering a cash advance in that scenario is so that you can pay off the other debt as you would have with a bank transfer.

i have a barclycard


i phoned up a while ago to take advantage of the 6.9 for the life of blance transfer and also got told, they couldnt offer me the bt, infact any bt at all....



i complained, and had to send my credit report off to them, and they gave me the bt there and then, they said at there end it showed a notice of correction on my file which has been sorted,


so could be something on your file??

Am paying my barclaycard off this month and am going to take so much pleasure in cutting it up into tiny little pieces !!!!!!!

I might send them a photo of our wedding too which we managed to do without the help of their god forsaken credit card thanks to some careful budgeting and lots of nights in - but boy was it worth it !!!!!!

Oh by the way have been chipping away at it over the last few months and for every penny I paid off they have lowered my credit limit accordingly - talk about trying to get rid of you !!!!!

Sorry to gloat but am over the moon - have paid Barclaycard off and phoned them today to cancel my card - I took sooooooooooo much pleasure in cutting it up and when the lady asked me why I was cancelling it and if there was anything she could do to change my mind i said eeeeerrrrrrrmmmmmmm..........NOPE !!!!!!!!!!

Yeehah, am having a good day today, feel like a weight has been lifted.
