Thanks YB!
As predicted as soon as I get back to work everything seems to get a bit manic. I'm still keeping track of all the spends but somehow still feel like I'm not doing quite as well as planned. My spending hasn't been over budget at all and I've steered clear of lots of temptations which is really good. I'll wait and see the overall picture at the end of the month.
Grocery challenge is going really well. Virtually all our meals were from the freezer. We haven't done too bad using eftovers or getting them frozen. We still have a ton of cheese though.
I still haven't bought any cardmaking stash. It probably helps that I've had a break from making them and have been doing jewellry which I might try and sell! I am trying to make as many cards and gifts as I can this year and where I can't I'm attempting to make gifts money neutral. I've just posted a card and gift voucher holder on my blog. I was very pleased to recycle the ribbon and everything else is from stash (lets face it my stash could probably last me for years!!)2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
We still have a ton of cheese though.
couldn't quite figure out whether the cheese in question is already frozen, but if can be, if it isn't. Advice from OS seems to be grate it where possible as hard cheese tends to go crumbly when defrosted.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Thanks Pavlovs dog. We have already frozen some and still have loads in the fridge which will be frozen if we don't eat it soon.
I tend to grate or slice and package into useable amounts before freezing (we're experimenting with vacuum packing it at the moment!). Only ever use it for cooking so even if some of the texture is lost it seems to work fine. It is good to know I'm on the right track!!
Any crafters out there will want to check out the free Sylvia Zet digis here. I'm so happy to get new digis without breaking my stash ban!! :T I'm trying out the clean and simple style at the moment.
I've lost count of my NSDs at the moment and will have to wait until the weekend to update them and also to check my grocery spends.
Still doing ok rather than great- still can't resist the odd luxury. However, I have resisted any big splurges and I think that has been my main problem.
I'm working on a couple of plans to up my income and work around my health issues. Hopefully I can make a little bit more money from crafting and by using my expertise as a scientist, teacher and mentor (especially as I used to work on a project teaching on the internet)

I should probably cut back too- although it is a really useful way to organise bookmarks. That's my excuse anyway
I've just done a quick weekly update on my finances. I'm still doing well with tracking my spending which is probably the longest stint I've ever done (looks very pathetic written down!)
Grocery budget going really well as pretty much everything we've had this month has been a meal already made and stored in the freeezer or made from storecupboard stuff.
Have spent some time trying to sort out my bl*g but it still needs more work. It seems really difficult to twaek it so it looks ok on computer and ipads.
As planned I have done some refashioning this month and will hopefully post these soon!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0
