welcome to the usual tory divide and conquor strategy. Treat everyone with broad brush strokes and use a sledgehammer to crack a walnut.

Just like they have to remove almost everyone from disability just to get at the frauds they now have to persecute small business owners just to get at the few p1$$ takers.

Yes your so right ,I mean Nu-Labour ran the country perfectly, I can't imagine why they lost the last General Election............

Oh yes, just remembered , they sold our Gold reserves for tupence, strangled communities with Health & Safety regulations, in the NE of England they creaated 50,000 Public sector jobs and about 200 Private Sector Jobs, Handed out more money in Benefits than the entire Income tax receipts,Stole £6 Billion from the Pension funds and then wonder why people don't have private pensions ..............

I'm no fan of the Tories but come on as a result of the 13 yrs of Nu-Labour Government we will be paying the price for decades.

As someone who has been Self Employed for over 25yrs I know many people that were self employed and purposely cut their working hours to gain WTC so I don't believe your "few pi$$ takers"......its probably a minority of SE but a sizeable one ......

i havent brought labour into it, so why have you?

Finding someone who is also $h1t doesnt invalidate the point that the tories are !!!!.

Very quick to blame the Tories though eh?.......;)

Those 44 jobs aren't real jobs it's a few jobs duplicated on multiple agency web sites several times over and it's also matching the two keywords graphic and designer. It also included jobs managing and working with other graphic designers. I really only found one job suitable a junior graphic designer but the advert is a month old and pays £15k.

but isnt that a better option. going in at a junior level will give you the opportunity to show your worth, and get promotion . if you are getting 5 thousand a year now from SE , then you wont surely be getting another 10 thousand a year on tax credits will you?
self employment is really up and down, especially in this economic climate, and any secure job would be a better option in my opinion.

I brought up the tories because they are the ones with a slash and burn policy paying no attention to the wider implications.

They are the ones who in an attempt to reduce fraudulent claims has basically chaffed everyone who is on disability.

Ditto for this tax credits thing.

So yeah, they are kinda relevant to bring up. Labour arent.

It's not just tax credits though isn't it? It's also the housing benefit and council tax benefit....but I do agree if it's something the OP enjoys doing then he should also enjoy being a junior graphic designer for a year or two for the same money as benefits then the promotions and pay increases up to the £40k mentioned earlier after many years of experience.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
