It's time to attack the mortgage!

:rotfl: I'm definitely not qualified in any sense! I've just been lucky enough to have been encouraged by lots of people, so just like to pass it on
Right done another small grocery shop £27.12 - without my list, so will have to cobble together a meal plan from what's there, but reckon I've enough to last until almost the end of the month. Payday is 5 days away and counting. I'm sure Jan is a 6 week month....
No DVD done, but I spend 2 hours cleaning, tidying, sorting, putting away, hoovering etc etc, plus 30 mins brisk walk to and from the garage to collect my car, so that will have to count as exercise for today.
Tonight will be a chilled evening with DH (without wine as I've overindulged this week on my trip)

Yay to potential OP amounts! And boo to brakes (although they are quite necessary I suppose, we had to replace ours a month or two back). We have our service tomorrow, fingers crossed they don't find anything else wrong.
Any linkies for us to live vicariously and see new frock?
And good luck for that thing we're not talking about.

Hi MG, just back from run with DD and I LOVED it. Don't stop the encouragement, I feel on a roll and don't want to stop. One I have noticed is I am not as stressed with work. I tend to keep a lot of stuff inside so this is really helping to balance that. Thank you..........
Sounds like you have done more than your fair share of exercise with your housework etc.
I am having a deserved sit down now, but no glass of wine yet.

Lightweight :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Looks like it's sold out online MW, but after reading about your charity shop haul, I'm slightly embarrassedAnyhow, it was from All Saints and was 55 euros - so about 20 quid right??!!
:o It will get lots of wear, so well worth it!

Glad to hear it! :T Keep up the good work.
Well my plans of exercise went to pot this morning. Got up early and put the DVD on - No More Trouble Zones - then little DD decided to "watch" Every time I huff and puff or cry out in pain (no gain), she gets down on the floor and literally in my face, looks all concerned "Are you alright Mum?" Which kind of puts my off my stride...
Then decided to get ready for the Parkrun, after sorting ballet clothes and bag and tennis kit. Then I got way laid sorting soemthing else, lost track of time, couldn't find socks, or my barcode, so missed that too!
The kids are out at a neighbours party this aft, so DH suggested we have a session in the kitchen! :j Sorting the accountsWho says romance ain't dead eh?:rotfl:
He has donated a book token from Christams, so I managed to get 3 presents from that, which added to my body shop bits, works out at £2 per present for 3 children and I'm delighted with that :money::money::money:
So, an afternoon of money talking, planning and sorting is planned, then not much else this weekend so should be no/low spend.
Hope you have a good one x0 -

No Hopeful, all above board here :A
The girls' party turned out to be 3 hours long, so DH and I went out for tea, which was lovely and very rare these days, so a real treat. DH was talking about his desire to get rid of the mortgage before we start on mortgage no:2. He's very focused on becoming MF which is great, but I said we needed to think about building more emergency savings too. His car is 10 years old and he said he'll keep it "until it dies", but that day will come.
He is very cautious when it comes to predicting his future income, but did hint at a large lump sum later in the year, so I'll live in hope for that. It certainly would be a comfort to get the balance under £200k this year. We'll see....
Good news is there is no tax to pay for the rental house (just the accountant's bill), but already I'm thinking about the mortgage for that. The fix runs out in September, so there's some time but last time we had an IFA arrange it, this time I want to save money and do it myself.
Just having a coffee before I collect the party goers. Have a good evening0 -
Hi MG, shred it complete with DD and DH, much laughter having all 3 of us together. Thanks for your training kick up the butt
Sounds like you did well with the birthday gifts - it is amazing what you can achieve if you plan ahead.
I laughed when I read you were having a session in the kitchen - glad you clarified the subject :rotfl:
Plans to get some more cash savings in place sound good and your DH being on board is a real help. I don't know how people manage with little support - I think I would want to punch my DH if he wasn't on board, as I would become increasingly frustrated.
Glad you had some quiet time together whilst the kids were out - its a help to be able to sit, talk and just take some out. My head is always full about plans, what next etc.
Anyway, sorry for such a long post and have a good day tomorrow.

Morning Tilly, and thanks. I could do with some motivation this morning. I feel a bit hormonal and have decided against running club today
We have a family party at lunchtime, so would not be back in time, but that's really an excuse - I've just got a serious attack of the CBA's
Anyway, moneywise I'm regretting my dress purchase and had decided to return it, then realised they don't give refunds. Bit cross with myself for being so weak, I get carried away and choose to ignore the fact that it's still costing me £££'s even though the price is in Euros....
There are a couple of things I can do today to save £'s though. When we moved we switched back to BT for calls and broadband. This is now costing on average £45-£55 a month, which is too high. We don't have Sky (even though the pressure is mounting from DD1 "EVERYONE has Sky ), but I know they do good deals (initially) plus being able to see Season 5 of Mad Men is a temptation, there is still something that makes me hang back....I think I see them as a big horrible capitalist monster, that will suck us in and make us regret it once the shine of the new deal has worn off.
Bottom line is I'm going to look to reduce our BT bills.
Also, I have an iphone for work, but still have my own mobile for personal calls and texts. I am with orange and went for their lowest tariff, which for me worked out at £20. Obviously, they weren't happy with this and changed my tariff a while ago. At the time I was too busy to do anything about it, but today I'm going to take action.
Hope anyone reading has a good day0 -
We succumbed to sky a couple of years ago from bt. To be honest our bills are cheaper now and they include broadband, tv and landline. We don't have movies, sports or pay for hd channels tho so just the basic plus entertainment, kids channels and one other set I think.
Hope you have a productive day.0
