also, has anyone flown with thomas cook before? compared to virgin's old planes they use on the route from london. i live in manchester now so found thomas cook cheaper to fly with.

I haven't flown with TC for 3.5 years now but have done it a few times and it wasn't a great experience TBH, the planes were old and tired, seat pitch tiny (width and length) entertainment shocking, food poor etc. Slightly better in PE but PE in TC was much worse than the economy service we got when we just flew with virgin.

Having said that we did get some cracking prices over the years -check out their fly-drives as well as flight-only.

Well with a little over a month to go and thinking we'd finally set our plans in stone we have gone and changed our final hotel.

We had originally booked Bellagio for £370 through lowcostusa for 5 nights. Looking today we could get the Wynn for £409 for the same dates. Both prices include resort fees. So I rang up and got it amended.

    So, our plans are now:

    Planet Hollywood 2 nights 24-26
    Cosmopolitan 4 nights - 26-30
    NYNY 3 nights 30-2 (comped)
    Wynn 5 nights 2-7

Works out about £77 a night on average.

Well it certainly sounds like you're doing that. Have you thought about a meet? I think there are a few of us there at the same time.

I think your memory is playing tricks on you. The planes on the MAN-LAS route are A330's that are 4/5 years old and have a great seat pitch of 33'' in economy.

So I guess it depends why you're going :)

First trip wasn't really about the gambling but just the experience. I know I've said it here recently before, but for a first time hotel you can't beat a pyramid room in the luxor. No where else that I know of can you walk out of your room at the top of a pyramid and look down x amount of floors at the ground below :)

I was actually going to mention Luxor first. Our first ever hotel and the one that still leaves a lasting impression. Some say the rooms are tired and dark, not my observation but something I would be willing to put up with just to walk out of my room and have that view down the worlds largest indoor atrium.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
