"Pricing changes for Primus Saver January 2012
At Primus Saver we work hard to ensure that we keep the cost of your home telephone bill as low as possible. We provide our valued customers with some of the lowest line rental and broadband rental prices in the UK, coupled with lots of free calls. We are always looking for ways to improve the service that we provide.
We are very pleased to say that in 2011 we successfully relocated our customer service operation from India to the UK, released the UK’s lowest ever line rental (twice!) and the UK’s cheapest phone & broadband package. We also started work on the release of our fibre broadband (up to 80Mb) services due for release in 2012.
You will have noticed that some of the larger phone and broadband providers increased their line rental and call charges earlier this year, with some increasing prices for a second time last month. Throughout the year the wholesale cost of calls increased from our suppliers but as a company we decided not to pass on these increases. Unfortunately the wholesale increases have reached a point whereby we need to pass on a small portion of the increase on these call charges. As a result some of your chargeable calls will increase in price from January 15th 2012. These changes are listed in the page link shown below and will be updated on our website price guides in early January.

The good news is that the rest of our pricing will remain the same and we are maintaining the incredibly cheap line rental, feature charges and broadband rental charges at your current low monthly price. We hope you continue to enjoy the service."

slenderkitten - did you read the link the MSE article explains in post #9 in the Primus £6.49 thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3668639
You may note that only 14% found customer service poor.
A friend of mine has been with them for a couple of years and not had a problem and also he's just changed to the £7.99 deal.
Please also see my reply #10 in that other thread (noting the price changes for non-inclusive calls mentioned here) and my most recent reply #14.0
