Looking for a childrens TV package

Hi,
Looking to get a TV package for the kids. Just need the kids channels, as me and OH don't watch TV.
Phoned Sky yesterday, and they said I would need to get the Entertainment Extra package costing £25 a month. I don't really want to be paying that much just for the childrens channels.
Can anyone recommend any other packages?
BTW, we can't get cable, as it's not installed on our estate, so virgin is out.

Which specific children's channels? If they are subscription channels not available on Freeview or Freesat, then Sky is your only option.
Or just tell 'em they'll have to do without...No free lunch, and no free laptop

Hi, the basic Sky package costs £20/month so you would only be paying an extra £5/month for the Entertainment extra, if you are going for Sky there is no way round this.
If you sign up through Quidco or Topcashback then you can get up to £160 cashback. I recently signed my son up and got £135 cashback and £25 M&S voucher, this would at least reduce the costs in the first year.
If you have a landline or broadband then you could change these to Sky at the same time so your overall tv/phone/broadband costs might not be too much extra.
If you don't have a landline Sky will install one for £10 ( BT usually £130 ) as part of an overall package.
If you cannot get the channels you want via freeview/freesat and cannot get Virgin then you don't appear to have much choice.0 -

for new customers there are only 2 packages on 12 month contracts - entertainment (the old variety and style and culture packs) (£20) and entertainment extra (all sky basic viewing at £25), the kids channels are within Entertainment Extra, Sky go reflects the TV package you already have, unlimited Broadband is essential for heavy use0 -

You are quoting from the sign-up area for current Sky TV customers. However you do not need a normal Sky TV subscription to subscribe to Sky Go. You don't need a dish or a 12 month contract either. This is from the sign-up area for non-SKY TV customers:
Non-Sky TV Customers
Subscriptions £15-£40/€18-55 per month. ESPN £9-£12/€12-16 p/m extra (or standalone at £16/€20 p/m). Monthly subscriptions renew automatically until you unsubscribe.
What is Sky Go Monthly Ticket?
Sky Go Monthly Ticket allows you to watch Sky TV on your laptop or mobile device without a Sky TV subscription.''apply within''

The OP would have to be able to connect their computer or laptop up to a TV or large monitor, unless they are OK with their kids huddled around a PC.0
