This quote might put your post into context:

According to Ofgem's latest figures, wholesale gas prices have increased by 167 per cent over the last three years, whereas customers' bills have gone up 52 per cent.

So using your logic BG should be charging 115% more for their gas.

Absolutely.

You know that, I know that, but it seems not everyone knows that!!!

It appears they think a 50% reduction in wholesale prices should mean a similar reduction for the consumer.
