Not posted on here for a while, am still trying to get debt free, but got a bit fed up as it seems a bit cliquey on this thread, and only a few people seem to get replies to their posts. I'd posted a number of things and never got any replies, so kinda stopped visiting. i will try to update my totals every month though, folks.

Oh no - I'm sorry you feel like this. I'm another one who religiously reads, but doesn't often feel like I've got anything interesting to add. I'll try to post more now though

Hi everyone, I'd like to join this challenge please. We have £6800 left to pay off, as I paid off £3300 of our debt yesterday. Is it ok if I cheat and put our starting amount as £10,100 and that we have paid off £3300. I will feel a lot more motivated if it looks like I've paid off a big chunk already....
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone that posts on here

Welcome to the thread. I'm sure you are welcome to do this whichever way you want to. If putting the whole amount will make you more motivated i don't think anyone will mind:)

Morning all, hope everyone is well. Congrats to everyone who has paid some debt off, and good luck for this month!

Have read all the messages, but don't really have anything insightful to add I'm afraid - I've got that Monday morning feeling! Sorry to anyone who feels left out, it was defo never intentional :o.

Anywhoo, back to me (:rotfl:), I have had a pretty good weekend - the only money I spent hasn't actually been spent, it had been loaned to my flatmate. She didn't get paid cos her work screwed up so I said I'd help her out. I know it is a bit of a risk, but she really isn't the type to screw someone over (and besides, I know where she lives mwah ha ha).

Oh, tho I did get my haircut (£35:eek:) but I haven't had it done since before Christmas, and I always like to get my hair cut after a break up! I also finally got round to cancelling my gym, but cos you pay in advance I can still use it til the end of May :T:T.

No more debt-busting tho, I have to wait for my cheques for the car scrappage and car tax, and refund from the insurance people (how come they can take my money instantaneously, but it takes 3 - 10 days for a refund?!) I have also decided that when I get my refund I'm going to give my lil sis £50 towards a dress for her leaver's ball. Mum really can't afford it, and my sis has to concentrate on A-levels rather than earning more money, so this should help a little.

I'm back to square one unfortunately. Had problems with my car which turned out to be a little expensive so I owe more than I started off with slightly. Oh well must keep going!

  • Oh I find myself funny sometimes... just had a sales call informing me that Mr S is entitled to free loft insulation.

My reply was 'that's pretty difficult when we don't have a loft!' :rotfl:

Ooh - how is it going so far Catmort? I need to start this again, especially now that the mornings are lighter. I need to be back in the house before 7am so that DH can leave for work.
I just need to get motivated to start....:o

Mmm well it was harder than I expected! I'm going to do the second one when I get home today. I couldn't do it in the mornings!! Thats very motivated of you!! I'm using the thought of my Mum seeing me for the first time in a year as inspiration as I want her to be surprised by my newly svelte physique... We can but dream lol

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been reviewing our budget using MS Money and scarily, spent £529.33 in Feb and £432.05 in March on Food alone! It's now obvious the food budget is our downfall - all the little trips to the shop here and there soon add up! Well worth me spending the two days back tracking through the last 3 months worth of transactions!

Most of the DD have gone out today so just to summarise have paid off £398.51 minus interest so that brings me to:

    #304 £1566.34/£5210.12 (30.06%) :j

On another downside cap1 only gave me a credit limit of £500, so I won't be saving as much as I first thought.

The first one was the hardest for me, I ached so much the following 2 days! But you honestly start recovering a lot quicker, although I think the following week I think I needed to repeat a couple of times to feel confident enough to move up another level. I haven't done anything for 2 weeks though, need to get back into it!

Welcome to the newbies, :T :T to all the paying off thats being done, and dont worry macca, cars seem to be being a bit of a bu**er for alot of us recently, just another hurdle in the road to Debt freedom.

Havent done any debt busting today as the bloomin monday market has taken over the town centre again (regardless of the fact its been there for about 50 years, it still catches me by surprise every week :o) and my ebay money hasnt cleared into my account anyway :rotfl:

    Today I will be:
Finally applying for the new CC for DH as his old ones 0% runs out in may.
Listing the last bit of carp on ebay
Write a weeks shopping list to try a curb those bloomin top up shops which will just be worse as its easter hols
Bake something . . anything! Might get DS and DD involved, DD can do a normal cake, DS can do gluten free buns  see how much they hack me off before I decide to get on and do it :o

 think that will do for today, will make another list tomorrow to keep me motivated, think that one needs to include, dig out all the cracks in the downstairs bathroom wall and fill with polyfilla so I can push DH to paint on the weekend :rotfl:
