PAYG tarrif help
Hi,
I currently use Giffgaff for payg. I pay £10 per month and get 200 mins and unlimited text & internet. The problem is I can rarely keep a signal. The signal can be poor to non-existant in many areas around where I live (North Hampshire). I have tried many different phones (currently Nokia E5) so it must be Giffgaff.
I would like to change to a similar PAYG tarrif only because of the signal problems, but dont know which one to use. 200 mins a month is more that enough for me, 200 texts would be too. I would however like unlimited internet. Orange says unlimited internet (which is really only 100mb). I have no idea how long 100mb would last.
I have a 3g phone and would mainly use the internet for Twitter & Facebook but hate being limited to just that. A contract is sadly out of the question.
Any help please?
Thanks,
Andy

Do you have wifi at home? If your phone uses that instead of mobile data then it won't be using any of you data allowance when at home. So you might not need as much data as you think.I have a 3g phone and would mainly use the internet for Twitter & Facebook but hate being limited to just that.0 -
GiffGaff is simply the O2 network ,

Thanks for the reply Humprey.
Doesnt really help as I use my laptop at home as its better than my phone. I do have wifi though.
I use my mobile internet when not at home so would need access then.0 -
Just looked on the sitefinder website. There isnt a ariel within a mile of where I live but there is the odd one in the areas where I work.
Of all the ariels in the area, say 5 mile radius, not one is an 02/giffgaff one.
My postcode is RG25 2PQ

If sim-only contracts are out of question, you'll struggle to match giffgaff elsewhere.
30 day Internet Booster costs £5 on t-mobile PAYG (or 6 months for £20). The FUP is pretty reasonable: unlimited browsing and 500Mb downloading/streaming.
Pay As You Go All You Can Eat costs £15 at Three.0 -
Most networks will send you a free PAYG sim.
So you apply for them all - except O2 as it doesn't work for you. You can even go through Topcashback for some.
Then check the bars on you phone for each. Ring their service line for a chat - all before putting any money on them.
Much better than relying on a coverage chart.0 -
T mobile are good as on the booster, you never get charged extra even if you go above the 500mb.They do restrict use of you tube & a few other sites but browsing is still fine after the 500mb fup.0

I would have to say 3 is probably the best one for you as they offer enough minutes and messages plus you also get unlimited data so give them a go first and see how you get on.0

This is such an inspired idea. I'm really impressed with how simple this would make checking coverage - and cashback too is just brilliant.
Thanks for the idea for my new phone hunt. I hope it helps the OP too.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0
