I emailed a third time and quoted the Sale of Goods Act. Today I received an email from them, no mention of my other emails but this is what it said...

    'Thank you for your reply.

We are sorry to hear that your order for ******** is not working correctly. As part of our Christmas Returns Policy we will be glad to accept the item as a return.

Please follow the instructions below in order to return your item and allow us to process your replacement as quickly as possible, once we received this item back to our warehouse.'

Strange how they didn't appear to have a Christmas Returns Policy until I mentioned the SOGA!

Thanks for the help all, hopefully will be able to get a decent copy now.

You'll likely have to scan and email them a copy of your receipt for return postage. They refund £1.40 as standard apparently and if you want the extra, you have to specifically ask for it =/

Yes, it says that at the bottom of the email. Is it likely to be more?
  • Not sure if I'm in the right place, apologies if i'm not. I bought a pushchair for my grandchild 14 months ago from amazon now the rivets have broken and is unusable. It completely collapsed with no warning and frankly was a miracle the child wasn't in it at the time. It cost over £200 but after emailing them was told basically its tough luck, the 30 days are up. Any one with any advice would be gratefully appreciated.
  • Probably best to start your own thread as it is more likely to be noticed. Did you email Amazon or the company you bought from? Amazon tend to be quite good.

An update from me: Had an email today to say I will be refunded plus postage.

Sounds about right for first class large letter (I assume the package is equal to or less than 25mm).

Although most would prefer to send it recorded delivery for peace of mind which add about £1 or so to the price.
  • I just used a large jiffy bag and folded it over. Cost £1.09 which is what they are refunding.
