We all know that PPC invoices should be ignored and that really should be the end of the matter. But many people can't accept that that's all they have to do to win - they have to see somebody lose.

We often see people "baiting" PPCs just to rub their noses in it. Does that really help or merely provide the BPA with the ammunition they need to petition for a change in the law in their favour?

Ignore. Win. Rejoice if you like. That's all you need to do.

Given the way the PPC's behave I can understand it when people rub their noses in it. The way they hound and harass people when they know they don't have a legal leg to stand on does incense people enormously.

The company I work for baited them with my leased vehicle, I went into a retail park in the morning and then late afternoon, the ppc had me there all day, the tracker debunked that as I had been working! So my fleet manager told the lease company not to pay it and asked the scammers to write directly with him.

He appealed knowing damn well it was a scam, he even got the owner of the company involved lol, they kept on appealing the points raised including the tracking details, but the ppc still turned it down, even though the vehicle could be proved it weren't there! Basically when they got bored with them they said either take them to court or sod off. They never heard anything since, but they did go back to the lease company to try and get payment, I guess when a company leases about 50 vehicles from they listen to their customers.

I don't think the baiting helps, I think it just makes the driver feel more "the man".

As for the PPCs, once they get a response it will just make them more determined to prove that they can take you on.

It's scam baiting ala Nigerian 419 , if you can get them to spend as much money as possible it means their business overheads increase, and they get less profits. Like the scammers from Nigeria they deserve nothing less, I wish that the dealings I have had thus far could cost them more money and time, but they gave up quickly.

Have you missed the PPC trolls on here that trawl the board to try and identify posters/cases, gloat, often give false "advice" and are not averse to a bit of baiting themselves?

There have been some excellent examples in just the last couple of weeks.

ripping one off the PPC's is great therapy when I'm bored.

a bit immature I guess, but hey-ho the 'nose-rubbing' thing is arguably better than getting all bent out of shape with anger at just how low these sphincters will stoop to make a few bucks.

maybe one of these days a PPC idiot will call by and splutter something highly reportable/ compromising. plenty here who will delight in nailing him to the floor.

if/when that day comes we'll all have good reason to 'rejoice'.

If you really want to cost them a load of money, send them a load of empty but addressed envelopes in the post.

It'll cost them to collect the letter from RM plus RM last time it happened to me (PO forgot to apply postage - the sender sent me the receipt) RM applied a £1.50 service charge.

Do that, they'll be so desperate to get hold of it in case its a bg fat cheque that they'll pay it without a shadow of a doubt.

Send 25- 30 a day and their costs will definitely mount up

However if 25-30 a day arrive somebody in the royal mail will smell something fishy, not to mention the PPC. Just do one making it to the "Payments" department.

Trouble is they can simply refuse to accept them which costs them nothing. It was tried some years ago with one particular (now defunct) PPC and they simply rejected every single one.

You can have some fun if you know what your doing. Some of the letters and emails that people have sent to a PPC and posted here are very dodgy. I remember one on CAG were a poster emailed this to UKCPS!

"I have recently received a parking fine from your company, I was parked in the swan lane car park in Evesham for 20 min over the 120min parking limit. I refuse to pay the fine as I was unaware of the new restrictions, in the past I have always left my car in that car park without problems. when I went into the car park it was dark I did not see the new signs. Its absolutely ridiculous that I should pay such a large sum of money to leave my for 2 and a bit hours in the evening when its not even busy. also to add insult to injury instead of issuing me a ticket on the night, you waited like cowards to send me a letter through the post. what you are doing is robbing good people of there money you are evil scam artists and I have know idea how you sleep at night, I have just come out of university and am in no position to pay such a ridiculous fine."

Thank you for your further email. Please find attached time and date stamped images of your vehicle entering and leaving the car park. Please also note your comments as stated in your 1st email.

This is clearly an admission.
Please arrange to pay ASAP. The amount will rise to £100 if failed to pay by 30th October – that is 14 days after we notified you of the overstay.

Please note the forum advice you are taking has proved unwise for so many people. Please expect court papers around 20th November if you have no intention of paying.
