I have Xperia Ray which is more or less the same, the APPS are aquired through a standard app on the main screen called Market, you have to sign up though.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. I have just bought my first App, 'Catch that Bus', looks pretty good for £1.99. I had to bite on the bullet before giving those personal details to Google'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. using your gmail account, sign into the phone if you haven't already, when you open the 'Market' app if you haven't already signing into gmail then it will prompt you to, after you have signed in search the Market app for any apps you want and hit install and bingo.
you can also search the Market from the browser and if you sign in you can send apps straight from the browser to your phone just by hitting install https://market.android.com/0 -

Thanks for the advice. My young son signed into to gmail using his gmail account (just to download games), however, now i have my own gmail account. However. now i cant delete his gmail account from my phone and when i try to download any app it states his gmail account. When i tried going thro the "accounts" menu it says i need to do full phone reset (is this really necessary?), any tips welcome.0 -
You will need to do a full reset to change the main account on an android phone. Been there and done it several times (tried lots of hacks to void it but they always fall down later). You aren't alone, a friend did this at work but used a collegue's gmail, then kept getting all her calendar alerts etc!0

I have just tried it with my HTC phone (my main phone is an Xperia Ray) didn't need to hard reset just delete the previous account, though I do have auto sync etc switched off.0 -

Yeah seems like the only way, suppose better now than before it gets more personalised.
Is there anyway on these smart phones one can switch to "office" mode? (rather than just silent or flight mode).
Also what app does one need to read the app square type barcodes?0 -

Neo reader is the app you require, surprised it is not pre-installed.
There are no profiles , which at 1st seem a dissapointment, but realistically, you don't want a phone with a ringtone in a meeting otherwise it is not a meeting
Whoever is in contact whilst the meeting is in progress can try again later or wait until the return of call/message0 -
What is a good and easy profile app to use? Tried Lama profile manager but dont understand how to use it. Want something that i can easily apply to set different ring tone volumes etc when in the office or in meetings etc.
Also my Mcafee virus checked expires in a few days (was preinstalled on phone) is there anything reasonable and free that can be used instead?0 -

If you look around the reviews suggest that some of these anti virus apps that are free are in themselves dodgy, either subscribe to the mcafee or don't bother renewing it.0
