There was a bit of a sale going on at Swansea Asda today. Beechwood storage boxes with lids (a 14 inch cube) reduced from £16 to £2. A portable DVD for £59.xx. White fur throw was £20 now £10. Knife block with kitchen devils knives for £10. lots of packs of photographic printer paper (around £4.xx for 6x4 size). There were also little travel irons and kettles (can't remember price but very cheap). They were at the end of the aisle with the vases and cushions etc.

...I noticed in Asda Bedminster (Bristol) on Saturday that many of the large packs of prepared fruit salad and melon (up to about 800g) are £1, rather than the usual £3 (ish).

Asda have been doing some fantastic deals on their prepared fruit for months now. I think they have just recently changed which packs are getting the mega reduction on.
The selection of slices of melons and pineapple, the fruit kebabs with dip etc and the Summer fruit salad are all on £1 ( Trial price from £2.98)
Before it was the mixed tropical fruit salad ( kiwi, mango, pineapple etc) and "sunshine" fruit salads.

Yes I could do it cheaper myself, but they are SO convenient and ready sealed - really good for children. Colourful, fresh and the 'mixed' packs tempt children to try a fruit they possibly never had before :D

By the way, no I don't work for Asda, but credit where credits due, nice to see them doing special offers on 'healthy' food, rather than usual crisps and coke etc ;)
  • In Asda today picked up 6 pack of Galaxy ice cream bars £1.00 !!
Also still doing Heinz beans and sausages ,spag bol and macaroni cheese tins 4 for £2.00 (mix and match them). Just stocked up for the school hols next week !!

    6 x 7-UP cans (normal and sugar free) @ £2.27 each

    SEL reads "2 for £2.00"

Tills are taking off £2.54 :)

    = 12 cans for £1.73 :)

But 2 x £2.27 = £4.54, so if the tills take off £2.54, doesn't that make it correct at £2.00 for 12 cans??

    Wow wow and WOW

    Head for Asda asap.

Called in this morning for a few bits ( as you do)
Came out with 2 trolleys full - about £300 for less than £50
Reductions were so high, sa needed supervisors approval to put the LOW price into the till !!!

Really nice Single quilt sets reduced to £3 and £3.50 - some had been £30
Faux fur cushions and throws about £3, and £7.50

Kids Leap frog sets only a few pounds

12 piece dinner sets (dinner and side plate and dishes) £4.30, or the blue sets only £2.15

Kitchen utensils reduced, mugs, plates etc.

SA said they were changing the range, and were clearing the shelf of the old stock - I'm just heading out to hit 2 other Asdas to see what they have to offer -thank goodness for credit cards I say.

Thanks to myrnahas and other posters - it was only because of your posts I looked in the homeware section ;)
