Having entered the android market with the Orange San Francisco and thanks to this site and Modaco debranded etc now looking to upgrade. Have same daughter (SF) for daughter too. One on orange, other O2, both sim only, unlimited text, 300 mins and 500mb data per month - cost £15.25
Looking at Galaxy S 2, reviews good but only want to pay £20 - 22 max. Any one aware of any deals out there. Additionally, your experiences with this phone appreciated. Many thanks

I'd wait a couple of weeks, if the rumours about to be believed, the S3 will be announced in the next couple of weeks, so that should (hopefully) push prices down for the S2.0

Thanks ckg1. I did'nt know there was a S3 on the way and as I am in no rush can wait.0

One of my friends has this and it is rather nice - lovely screen.
Looking at these prices, http://www.phoneshop.co.uk/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-S-II/ it already seems to be just about at your target price of £20 - £22.
I think my friend is on closer to £30 and got the phone in November so it looks like price has already dropped ?0 -
I had a Galaxy S2 and it's a fantastic phone and if you can get it on a tariff around £20 then I would say go for it.
When the Galaxy S3 comes out more than likely you'll end up paying upwards of £35 a month for it and the Galaxy S2 is still a very high spec phone.0 -
I've had a S2 since they came out and I love it (had a HD2 before, so I am used to big, good displays and fast processors but the S2 is something else ). The S3 maybe announced soon-ish but I doubt it will actually be out in the shops for a few months yet - at which point you could see if you can get a second-hand sim-free S2 and just go for a sim-only plan of your choice to go with it.
Edit: S3 expected to be announced at the Mobile World Congress end of February... rumours of quad-core with 2GB of RAMNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0
