    Hi *Mari*

I just decided enough was enough and as I am on a DMP, the money I WAS spending could be better used elsewhere.

And now after 301 days I dont miss it AT ALL.

Not AF last night but only 2 glasses, considered more but didn't just had a little voice saying "2 is enough you know the effects of more. Stop now before you can't" whoever lent me their voice thank you!

  • I'm not doing too well - only 2 AFD in August so far.
My weekend DID start on Wednesday when I had a glass of wine after doing the shopping, which led to another, and again on Thursday, and I finished the box last night. 1 box - 3 bottles - 3 nights! Oh dear!
Its not doing my diet any good, and its not doing my liver any good either!
I must gather some 'WILL NOT' power together and see if I can still almost make my August Target. It would mean ONLY having a drink on a Saturday night.......now that might help my diet too! :-)
Hope you all have a good weekend.

    Hi Everyone
    5 AF please Shaggy
Just back from a 3 day break with DH and mum. Most enjoyable especially as the sun shone for most of it. Didnt want to drink too much on hols as it really affects my sleep, so i managed to only have 1 small glass of wine (unheard of) on 1 st day 2 small glasses 2nd day and on last day 1 vodka and 1 wine. This is WAY less than in would normally have so feeling quite chuffed with myself. Im actively trying to cut down on drinking wine mainly due to the cost of a large glass of wine in pubs and also the vast amount of calories. Hope everyone is having a good weekend

    Morning :hello:

2 Glasses of wine in the pub Friday night. AF yesterday - got bells around about 7 to 8 but the little voice said "no - you'll sleep so much better if you don't drink and you don't need the calories" And I did sleep well - so thank you little voice (who's ever it is :D)

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Thank you Graeme, wise words as always. We, as a family spend a lot of time together an alcohol is a big part of that. I think collectively we need to make changes, but also I have to learn to say no and mean it. This trying to cut down/give up seems like a daily battle that has been going on way too long and I just don't want to spend my energy thinking about it any more.

Last night my wife was debating about having a glass of wine or not. She spent a good few minutes thinking about it (and did have one in the end :rotfl:)

One of the benefits of not drinking at all is not having that debate in my head.
The answers to "Shall I/Shan't I?" & "How many can I have and still drive/work/not feel ill tmrw?" are always the same for me.
    None at all.
I cannot put any amount of alcohol in my body safely.
