    cw18 – well done for numbers 4 & 5!! :j:j
Hope the slicer is working how you expected it to?
    Pretty much :)

reviews on loads of (much cheaper) machines were complaining about how hard they were to clean, but this one only has one very small problematic area which is soon sorted with a knife with a very slim and narrow blade :)

I was having problems with it walking across my kitchen counter though, so when I went to slice another loaf with it tonight I put it onto a thick silicon sheet meant for lining baking trays - and it stayed firmly in place :T

This afternoon I made 956g of butter and 725ml of buttermilk from the whoopsied cream I bought last night - so I'm well impressed with that :) Mentioned it to my chap this evening, and he said he's done it a couple of times after trying it out at a food festival - which lead to him looking up the dates of it for this year, and it looks like I may have a day out at the beginning of May at it sounds like a good event..... and it would be a good treat for the weekend after my marathon ;)

Late afternoon I toddled off down to shops to get some salad stuff, some greaseproof paper (for wrapping the butter in - couldn't believe I didn't have any in the house :( ), and any ingredients I didn't already have in to turn the braising steak I bought last night into steak & ale filling for pies (I couldn't believe how many different bottled beers there were that I had to try and chose between - as a non-drinker, who never drank beer of any type even before giving up drinking any booze, it was totally overwhelming!!). It was already a spend day due to a D/Debit going out though, so had been earmarked as a potential shopping day....

Another NSD yesterday, not sure if that's 6 or 7, must go and have a look at the spreadsheet before I finally declare. Hopefully I can get another couple in before the weekend, trying to live out of the freezer at the moment.

    Good Morning,

Thanks for all the updates, I don't know how you manage to work it all out. This thread is so busy :)

Declaring NSD#9 for yesterday and it makes me up to 5 in a row, which beats my target :) I never thought I could go five days in a row without spending. I have to say my bank account looks much better for it. I actually have money, it's the beginning of January and two days until payday - unheard of before :T

    Have a great Wednesday x x

Thanks BDINI, Spoon, Beanie and BigMumma and everyone else that sent good wishes.

When I read my original post again I felt a bit :o:o:o at the amount of off-topic ranting so I took it off.
I had a meeting with my supervisor & her boss yesterday and I received a humble apology for the way she handled the review. I was well prepared though, and I had all the things I wanted to say written down. Although it came out as a bit of a "speech" I was able to get everything said without losing my temper (and therefore credibility)
She is new to this post and these are her first formal reviews.
She is very inexperienced in staff matters, and I think she realised she had made a gigantic boo-boo in the way she handled this.
She agreed that I had been nothing but supportive of her over her first year in the role. I told her that if she wasnt happy with something I was doing, a quiet informal word is sometimes better than a full blown "formal" meeting and certainly, under no circumstances sshould a conduct matter be raised in a year end staff review which is only meant to cover performance and develpoment matters. ( This is stated in my firm's HR policy)
That said, while I will gladly do my job, I wont be volunteering to change days, do extra hours etc any time soon! I'm not that much of a pushover! It's 9-5 and a full hour for lunch from now on!;)
