Today is NSD 8 :j:j:j DH wanted us to go to a sub xpress but I told him I would make lunch so money saved there (prob still would have been an NSD as I would have made him pay!):money: :D

Thanks all for your lovely kind words :) I am doing a degree in psychology and really enjoying it but did kind of know I hadn't put my all into the assignment....it has really made me realise how important it is to me though, so it's not all bad!

    Hi LittleMissHappy,

I returned to University as a mature student and know how difficult it is. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of those people who looked at something for 5 minutes and was then able to get high marks. I had to work hard, but am pleased to say it was worth it in the end. As you say though, a very small setback in the marks has made you realise how important the whole thing is, so keep up the good work and well done on your achievements so far:).

I feel your TMA pain, I'm in the middle of a little 15 point introduction to psychology to earn me some points and am about to embark on a Level two course, trying to get a Social Work degree but it's not easy is it???

No it's not easy but def worth plugging away at....

I've hit a huge stumbling block in my aim to get my degree - I've finally made it to the HND level :j but I now need £3.5k to do the last year:( (and that's if I manage to start before the fees rise later this year).

Honestly, they make it so hard - if I went to Uni full time for that year, I'd get it fully paid but if I to go part time (which I have no option but to do as can't afford to give up work), I get no help whatsoever:mad:.

I could get £500 to help towards it if I did it by distance learning through a Scottish Uni but none of them do the course I'm doing by this method of learning - and can't use the funding at an English Uni.....

Have a feeling that'll be it for me as I just can't justify a loan to pay for it and tbh couldn't really afford to pay one back either.:(

Thanks Beanie ... I'm having to do it the long hard slog way! (being self funding it worked out cheaper to do it in stages where I could get a formal qualification at the end of each bit & have a break, rather than jumping straight into the degree). The OU is great but unfortunately hideously expensive and just not poss for me to find that much money at once - it worked out much more expensive than doing it the way I'm doing it.

I started with an HNC Management which then gave partial exceptions to the HND Business - which I finished a few months ago:D.

Have several options for the degree - could either do Management, various Business options (eg Business Studies, Business Admin etc) or with a related subject (eg Business with HR etc).

I was looking at doing Business Information Systems - but unfortunately think I may struggle with some of the more technical IT bits now that the secondment I was on which was closely related to that field has finished:(.

I'd love to do Project Management (which was part of my HND) but you need to go on placement for a year so not poss.....

Jeezzzzzzz sorry for the moan!:o I will get there one of these days .... must keep entering the David !!!!!!*inson comp to try to get the funds!:)
