Thanks BDINI, Spoon, Beanie and BigMumma and everyone else that sent good wishes.

When I read my original post again I felt a bit :o:o:o at the amount of off-topic ranting so I took it off.
I had a meeting with my supervisor & her boss yesterday and I received a humble apology for the way she handled the review. I was well prepared though, and I had all the things I wanted to say written down. Although it came out as a bit of a "speech" I was able to get everything said without losing my temper (and therefore credibility)
She is new to this post and these are her first formal reviews.
She is very inexperienced in staff matters, and I think she realised she had made a gigantic boo-boo in the way she handled this.
She agreed that I had been nothing but supportive of her over her first year in the role. I told her that if she wasnt happy with something I was doing, a quiet informal word is sometimes better than a full blown "formal" meeting and certainly, under no circumstances sshould a conduct matter be raised in a year end staff review which is only meant to cover performance and develpoment matters. ( This is stated in my firm's HR policy)
That said, while I will gladly do my job, I wont be volunteering to change days, do extra hours etc any time soon! I'm not that much of a pushover! It's 9-5 and a full hour for lunch from now on!;)

Glad things seem more sorted Jinty, now i just need to keep the soggy paintbrush to hand incase you forget & start to be too helpful again!! :rotfl::rotfl:

I do have to say though, that i don't think the off topic rants are really that off topic though, to be fair, if i didn't rant on here the only other coping strategy i would use would be shopping of some description, so actually all the off topic stuff is definitely in pursuit of an NSD.

I hope that makes sense, it does in my head!! All i'm really trying to say is you rant away anytime it helps hun!!

  • NSD 5 for me yesterday

Feeling a bit p-ed off today. Not sure if I mentioned but where I work is accounts office of a head office. All the staff in all the shops in the company got a small Christmas bonus. Accounts got nowt nada not a bean! It's not even the money its the principle  everyone got the same so it's not even performance based. Feel like we are fighting a losing battle!

Ah well, I looked at jobs the other day - my team is nice but it's time to start looking at moving onward and upward I think!

    Rant over ('pologies!)

    JCG x

((((((((((((((((big hugs))))))))))))))) JCG, i totally understand why you are peed off, i would be too!!!

Good luck with the job hunting... fingers crossed for you!!

Positive attitude has taken a bit of a hit today - my sister decided that a good way to start the morning was to tell me she hates me, living with me is awful and this is "her" house and not mine (it belongs to our mother, so not quite sure how she can justify that one), I have no place being here... lovely stuff. All I said to her today was good morning! :( We had a couple of words last night but I apologised at the time, so I'm not sure where this has come from. On top of Mr L deciding it isn't practical to live together again just now/he doesn't want to move at the moment, my confidence has taken a bit of battering!

So, today was a spendy day as I went to A$da feeling very low... However I resisted the temptation to spend a small fortune on CDs and games, and bought myself some (needed) underwear and socks instead (rock'n'roll...), and a couple of other small bits. I was going there anyway, to do a household shop, just had to get out of the house so ended up having breakfast there to avoid shopping when hungry!

Anyway, enough shopping and eating chocolate, I think I might go and make use of that jacuzzi and steam room I'm paying through the nose for... :o

OOH I nearly forgot! Yesterday was NSD Number 5!!

(((((((((((((((((((((big hugs)))))))))))))) Lotti, how awful. Not really anything i can say to make things better, but well done for resisting the spending today, & any time you need to rant we are here.
Sending vitual chocolate & wine for you to enjoy in that jacuzzi!!

  • Quite a spend day for me.Picked up and paid for my half-price boots and somehow managed to blow this week's budget on wants rather than needs.

I'm going to rearrange my budget for the next few weeks to make up for the shortfall.I'll think I'll manage it.

On the plus side,I've picked up six books second-hand,looking forward to some great reads.

jinty glad you've got things straightened out at work

lotti ((hugs)) and well done resisting the urge to spend!
  • Whoops, forgot to say number 7 for me today :j
Think the next couple of days will be spendy though, as off to notts to tear my hair out at the damage to the rental house :(
