Argh, didn't realise Zapper took CD singles, I just took a bag full to the charity shop today! Never mind! Here's a question, anyone know if there is anything you can do with foreign coins? I have a bag full of various different ones, I have no idea why, but I always seem to find another random odd coin and even ones from countries I've never been to!

Just finished my 10 listings :rotfl:!! Did not get chance to get started until 11pm and it has just taken 2 hours - mind you, was distracted and had half an eye on Bruce Willis in Die Hard. Glad I stayed up to finish it off now - being a bit of a night owl I am at my most productive in the evenings. Unfortunately, I will regret the late night in the morning when my 2 munchkins are bouncing around!!!

Good luck to anyone burning the night oil listing. Night night xxx

I've been a thunking & a debating with myself ... and I have a couple of questions for the Oracles & Regulars puritttyyy please

Firstly ... Money off Coupons ... I've not included these in the past, as my choice was to only include extra earnt (money or vouchers) rather than money saved.. but I used a Coop £2 off a £20 spend Coupon yesterday and I have another coupon for 10% off next purchase for PAH (which I will be using for the furballs food next week & will save about £3-£4 depending on what I buy)
So.... I'm thinking that when I use these, to put the money in a piggy tin along with my (rare) roadkill finds - then when it's full .. using it towards one of the debt bills ... Shall I count this in my challenge ?

Secondly (albiet a little time away yet) ... GYO items ... As some of you may know from my diary mutterings .. I'm going big time into GYO this year .... I was already thinking of "gate selling" any excess (ie that I dont use / freeze) which would naturally go towards the challenge ... but would it be "acceptable" to include the money I'd have paid in the shop if I'd bought it ? (cheapest price I find on mysupermarket) Working on the same basis as my coupon question ?

What do you guys think ?

  • GreyhoundAngel - I always count money off coupons/vouchers etc, I also count anything I get on special offer, for example I bought washing powder and fabric conditioner at half price so I added the money I had saved to my "£10 a day" total :D
The same for any fruit and veg that you save money on or sell;)

Morning Angel. Everyone does the challenge slightly differently, but I only count money that I can "physically" move into my savings account. I do count savings made from vouchers as I transfer the money from my bank account directly into my savings account and add the total to my challenge. So, as you plan to put the saved money in your pot I would say it is a good idea. Same applies for the GYO and any money made from sales. Great idea. :T

A regular poster on here (name escapes me) also brews their own alcohol and includes the money they save each time they drink it compared to what they would have spent buying it from the shops.
  • Thanks Ladies :D

Think I will run with the idea then ... but will only "count it" if I transfer the money to the pot (sometimes I might not ... so wouldnt "feel" right counting it) :A

GA - if you can physically put money saved into pot from vouchers and earnt from GYO, I would include it.

The only reason I don't is using coupons helps me save money, that I don't have, it does not give me excess amount to save, although I hope to be in that situation this year.
