Okay - you've all inspired me!
This is my first post (although like many others I have been reading through threads for a long time) and I think I could probably manage £5 per day for January, especially with all your helpful hints.
So far this month I have my £5 from H'fax and £1.97 from Quidco. I've got loads of stuff for E-bay that we sorted out before Christmas so will have that listed this weekend. This morning I have written a letter to claim my work uniform rebate and have also requested envelopes from the cartridge recycling place - I have one cartridge ready to go and a couple of others are running low. I'm also going to actually do the surveys that hit my in box (I usually leave them there for ages and by the time I get around to doing them they're closed!).
I worked 5 hours overtime on Wednesday but I usually work some extra hours each month. I work out all our household budgets based on my husbands salary and me earning £500 so I will take anything over £500 as part of this challenge.
I shall go and try to work out how to add a signature to show my £6.97.
Wish I had enough confidence to aim for £10 per day...January £5 per day £284.87/£155 February £10 per day £294.470 -

As for the £10 a day, maybe next month, you can challenge yourself? Start small and see how you get on0 -
Just ordered £5 DP voucher from McCains so will add that when it comes - Thanks Aesop
, I noticed you mention the £5 vouchers. I thought they had gotten rid of them all as all I could see was £10, then £20 vouchers - didn't think to scroll down and check if they were hidden away underneath, lol.

Sold a book on Amazon for someone else...£22 before postage, I get a 20% cut, so hoping for around £4 - honestly, this selling other people's stuff for them is going well!
Then work gave me a box of cartridges to sell. Looked on eBay, one set of 4 is going for £17, and I've got 6 sets of 4 and two others going for £25 each! My 20% cut from that will be good. I'm using work's time to get the listings ready for tomorrow too.I like to make money

Morning all, since last update;
5/1
Local grocers - strawberries - 250g - £1.80 whereas Tescos currently have the same at £2 - save 20p
Local grocers - 1lb class II bananas - 30p - although slightly bruised - Tescos 59p - save 20p
Cool Trader - Actimel x 4 - sell by date 15/1 - 59p - usually £1 - save 41p
Cool Trader - Warburtons loaf £1 - local corner shop (where we usually buy) £1.39 - save 39p
Cool Trader - 1l milk 69p - local corner shop (where we usually buy) £1.09 - save 40p
Poundshop - 6 x cans coke £1.20. Nearest comparison is Cool Trader - £1.99 - save 79p
Worked from home - save in petrol £7 (usually commute to Sheffield) save in parking £3 - made £10.
Total today = £12.39. Total for January so far = £92.41
Since taking up this make £x a day challenge, I'm really pleased just how much we've already saved / made this month by just being a bit more price conscious. I thought a fiver a day for January was optomistic but in 5 days we've already achieved over half the total pledge for the month. Although the majority (£70 - in my last post) is Quidco cashback for car insurance we bought last year, that still leaves over £20 simply from being a bit more frugal. Most surprising is how the pennies soon mount up into pounds. Half the surplus is going into a rainyday tin the remainder on going out. Tonight we're going down the pub for a fully 'deserved' pint or three.Bucket and Spade FC - Southend United - turning people to drink since 1906.0 -

Well I've hit my daily target today
I always buy my mum bits when I go shopping, loaf of bread, dog food, etc, and she has just given me £5 for it. I didn't expect it, so I'm adding it!

Good to hear they don't take too long now, I've not ordered any since the big mess up a few months ago when everyone's vouchers went AWOL, lol. I've got £20 of DP (well, Arcadia) vouchers stashed away from McCains already so may treat myself to something pretty when it comes through0 -

I'm expecting a cheque from mu$ic magp1e for DVD's I sent away just after christmas, plus got a load of stuff to list this weekend on eb4y.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Hi House of cards...
I started with £5 per day... I became so motivated that I (almost) hit my target... so I thought by adding on ebay sales etc... this month I will aim for £10 a day... so you will get there. But any extra you make, £1 or £100 a day is all a good thing!
Welcome and good luck! :T9 years and counting0 -
