I wouldn't agree, as Chip and Signature cards are more fraud prone and more fraud is bad news for everyone. I'm happy to have a C&P card (well, actually, quite a few) but I would expect fair treatment from my banks.

Incidentally, as someone else mentioned getting good treatment from Morgan Stanley following fraud on their account, I have also had recent fraud on a Morgan Stanley card and found them very reasonable indeed - and proactive, as they identified the fraud way before it had got to the stage of my receiving a statement with fraudulent transactions on it. The transactions involved were abroad and, I suspect, not supported by a PIN.

Think about it? You can't get money out of an ATM with a signature and you can't be held liable for PIN misuse.

It's taken the Jox press to tell another small truth. All these cards being cloned and PINs captured on an industrial scale, the cloned cards are being used in UK:

This flys in the face of someone elses posting (can't remember who), who said something along the lines of cloned cards couldn't be used in UK ATMs.

    Story here:
One victim discovered he had been hit when his bank contacted him to query four withdrawals of £350 a time in Kent.

CREDIT and debit card fraud has gone UP since chip and PIN technology was introduced, a judge said yesterday.

What statistics is the judge quoting from? Reading the article it appears to be just that judge's opinion that this type of crime is on the increase.

I don't know what the level of card fraud is in France but when I was living and working over there 3 years ago it was all Chip and PIN and I couldn't use my English Chip and Signature card...
