well the issue I see is delivery offices IMEdon't get collections from Parcelforce
they get deliveries(unifrom, red cards etc) and Gas boxes(they use the DO's as parts storage for engineers)
so these items being 'put aside' is a recipe for disaster. I'm guessing one of the PF guys was collecting stuff on an ad hoc basis
Sorry i'm getting you're speak?
what is IME? what do you mean ad hoc basis.
(sorry to be thick)
The depot has a little counter for the public where u can drop off post, buy stamps and postage (cash only) and u can ddrop off parcel force stuff.
I've been doing that for about 2 years with no problems.
But if i want to carry on using PF I'm going to have to drive to their depot instead.0 -
Also it's not as though the parcel wasn't worth much, the order of invitations i did was for £217!0

I dropped off a pre-paid parcel, Parcel Force 48, to the Royal Mail Kiln Farm depot, as I’ve done many times before. They are then supposed to put any Parcel force parcels aside for the Parcel force driver to collect.
The following week I get a call from my customer to say her parcel hasn’t arrived and what’s going on. I then check Parcel Force online only to see that my parcel isn’t even logged into the system for tracking, I ring Parcel Force but they tell me they haven’t got the parcel.
So Now I have to go back to the Kiln Farm depot to see if it’s there, they tell me the parcel isn’t there so Parcel Force must have collected it! I ring Parcel Force, they say they definitely haven’t got it and it’s probably gone through the Royal Mail system instead!
After 2 weeks the parcel hasn’t turned up and time is running out because the parcel contained wedding invitations that my customer wanted before Christmas. So consequently I’ve had to order more stock to make MORE invitations for my customer and because of time restraints I cannot wait any longer for the original parcel to turn up, If at all it does.
I’ve put in a claim with Parcel Force but they will only pay me for the cost of the stock that I used to make the invitations and not my time. So I’ve lost out there through no fault of my own
They are covering your actual losses, being materials. The time aspect is unfortunately the cost of doing business0 -

Ah right.thats different
if its a delivery office/post office, then it should be hadnled as normal
courior stuff can end up in the mailstream
even get things like citylinkand HDNL items in the mail.
problem for you is unless the item gets back to Parcelforce then its never going to track
RMs guns wont work on a PF item number
many folks reuse or use new PF packaging to send by RM. so its not something that will imediatly stand out0 -

I never knew this so fo course I've been adding extra compensation to all of my parcels if needed to cover the cost of the order, when in fact I didn't need to do this in the first place as the normal level of compensation would have covered the material costs in teh first place! :mad:0 -

well its one failure in 2 years. what exactly would you expect from RM/Parcelforce?
a flogging,genocide?
mistakes happen
most likely the package has gone into the RM mail stream, not Parcelforce
it shouldnt happen but i can0 -
And for the record (as it wasn't explained) ...
IME = in my experience0 -

Actually I've had other problems with post but they've resolved themselves.
But when you've got a bride waiting for her invites and they go walk about it aint good.
My company's reputation, well, it's everything to me and when !!!! ups happen it reflects badly on me, whether it's my fault or a third party's fault.
And yes if i could flogg the bloke who i handed the parcel to i would0
