( I did try!) So thanks for the welcome.
CS - is that charity sack?
Right I will aim for 10 things. I suffer with depression and bipolar so I am all or nothing. Last time I tried to declutter the kids cried their eyes out because I threw 80% of their toys away.
Baby steps :A
I've had that experience with my kids toys when they were young too. Nightmare!
I used to tidy away half their toys into a ' toys resting' box and every few months rotate that with the 'being played with ' toys.
As they would forget the 'resting' toys when I got them out it seemed like new toys to them. This cut down on the toys I had to tidy away each day and as they were all rotated they didn't need so many new toys. I took the opportunity to chuck out anything broken while they were in the 'resting' box too.0 -
Hi to everyone and welcome all the new posters.
Shopping day yesterday and today, so more ins than out, but it's all food that will get eaten up over the next couple of weeks so not really clutter (well, it won't be when I've put it all away. I don't mind buying the stuff but can't abide having to put it all away when we get back!).
While tidying the DVDs I found a brand new Strictly dancersize DVD that I bought and have never got around to watching/doing, so that's my only out today.
19. Dancersize DVD - going into fundraising tombola in November
Although it's not out of the house yet it is in a bag with all the other tombola prizes. Tomorrow I'm doing a charity soft toy tombola so hopefully a few soft toys will be leaving and not returning!
Going very slowly at the moment.... got lots of fundraising bits and pieces lying around, plus I still haven't put away bits I bought 2 weeks ago for emergency bags etc. Still looking for the 'perfect' bag to store it all in I think.....Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Thanks loopychriss, you have just given me an idea for using more fabric from my stash. Have been thinking about putting an "emergency hospital bag" together for a while now. Shall have to make one! :T
I have a feeling I won't make my target this month, hubby has not been so good and, as I am decrepit, I can't manage some things alone. Not falling off the wagon though, this house will be decluttered if it kills me!:rotfl:
Well done everyone, welcome to anyone new who I have missed this week, apologies.

Hi everyone,
I have a week off work and I am planning on getting back on the declutttering wagon.
Yesterday I sorted lots of books that are awaiting the approval of OH before I take them to CS, will list them when they have gone.
Have told DS he has to sort out his wardrobe (and his floordrobe!) so there will be stuff to go from there as well.
Will pop back later.
Happy decluttering everyone.:)0 -
I'm spending most the day today listing stuff on eBay, I've moved a lot of it into the charity shop bag but still lots to list. Have made a very big dent on the clutter though and she loved the decluttered look in the house! I posted a parcel yesterday and had someone pick up 4 games that were taking up a lot of room. Also decluttering my computer as it has a lot of rubbish on it
Now just decluttered a games console to my brother, out of my house into his0 -
Afternoon all, hope everyone is having a great Saturday
Managed a tiny sort through and am amazed I found anything to get rid of, but I did - so well done me!!

Have got some fabric out of the stash to make an emergency hospital bag which will hang on the back of the bedroom door in case of need.
Am pleased I shall have another charity bag on the go. Will also be aiming to do another bag for Foodbank before Xmas too.

Today I put out the paper, plastic and aluminium recycling.
I also decluttered a large quantity of dust bunnies.:)
I still mean to reach my target this month-I'm going to have to pull my finger out.Three days off next week,so might manage it then.0 -
Today I have been sorting the untidy into the tidy and collecting together my Christmas stashes.
In the process I found a few things I had forgotten
So, only 2 items 'out'
25. fake tan to bin
26. cardi to fabric recycling.
Had a general sort out of the usual recycling which is much easier with a more streamlined kitchen.
Hoping for better tomorrow.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Good evening all. Yesterday time ran out and I had to finish a job I've been putting off for a long time - it wasn't fun, I didn't enjoy it but it was so good to get rid of it. That's 2 major things finished this week - I have lots of smaller tasks that need dealing with so maybe I should think about decluttering those too.
I was out today for a seminar and for the first time met up with a couple who'd rung me about the event. We got chatting and I discovered that a close friend of their daughter worked with me about 15 years ago. Totally different time, place etc etc. It made interesting lunch-time conversation before the main talk.
Back home now and a few bits to report:
1 food smoker bag to bin
36 books to cs (but I don't think I'm going to manage my target)0 -
