Ive found a drawer full of leads/wires etc in my sons room. I'm going to go through them with him to see what they are to see what can get banished into eternity. Im sure most of them are for stuff we (i) chucked years ago.

You know, i'm beginning to think i am the only one who chucks stuff out in my house. Ive just found 3 years worth of the empty boxes that my sons Xbox live came in.

My OH has drawers and boxes of leads I keep finding but he insists they are all useful! And I KNOW Im the only one in my house who chucks things! lol
  • This may be useful for us, we are incapable of decluttering! And in a small one-bedroom flat, it the clutter or us and I feel like I am starting to feel prisoner of my own bedroom.

I tried to do it by room in the past but it never worked. I'm getting a better feeling from doing it by item, I have started with DVDs and videogames, hoping to sell to zapper shortly and bring the ones that didn't make a valuation to the charity shop.

The sad thing is, the DVDs and video games were the tidiest of the clutter... :(

  • First day back at work and I'm knackered! Just wrapping up my eBay parcels to post tomorrow. Got two WEMs so two more comp prizes to find homes for! Might list a few more bits on ebay when I wake up again :rotfl:

Welcome! just an idea, try amazon trade in for video games, I was quoted alot more there than on zapper! Also worth comparing dvds with whats currently selling on eBay and also with music magpie HTH :o

Next quick update - seem to be getting on a roll now

    32-40 9 t-shirts - bag for CS
    41-48 8 grotty bras - binned
    49 another suitcase - CS

Guess I'll be making a trip to the CS tomorrow:j

Just having a break then will try to do a bit more this evening, would be really good if I can get to 100 by the end of tomorrow
  • I take stuff to my local trade in shop as he offers 50p per DVD and 33p per CD. I have loads of auctions that end today. My mum has just told me there is loads of parcel bags in the old airing cupboard, I opened it and it is full to the brim of stuff!! Will be tackling in there one day!
  • Last e-bay parcel out today! waaay :)

A Sally Army bag came through the door last week and i've made a little resolution that everytime a bag comes through the door i'm going to put at least something in it! Sally Army bag is clothes and household linen only (did a cash for clothes bag last month and thought i'd got rid of all my surplus stuff!) but have still found about a dozen items. Bag being collected tomorrow.

Been a bit hard today as mum is at home being ill and i've been trying to tidy up the house. I like to de-clutter to the point of being a bit OCD about it and both my parents struggle to do a little bit. In fairness it is their house but I know it gets them down and it gets in the way. When ever I try to chuck just a little bit I seem to get it in the neck!

    Happier things:
2 more sets of gig tickets ordered
box of teabags to OH's mum
    3 pairs of boots polished
All things in the wardrobe folded nicely
Whole house hoovered (and tidied as much as possible without being shouted at!)

A bit of work tomorrow and friendy things (and a CS shop drop off) on Wednesday

Have a good evening everyone :)

Don't be nervous! As long as your books are in a reasonable condition they take them. I've had good experiences with Zapper, Amazon trade in and Music Magpie. The cheques sometimes take a while to come through but they do (and if they don't their customer services are very good). :) If anything go for a smaller box so the books don't have room to rattle around in and get damaged. Good luck box hunting!

Thanks greengoblin. Site manager's looking for some boxes for me tomorrow. I'm glad you've said you had good experiences with them as it's put my mind at rest a bit!

I've got my name on the first page of a lot of my textbooks and Amazon trade in say that you shouldn't be able to see that. Do you think I should stick a label over them, or will they send them back? They are in perfect condition apart from that!:o
