What i meant was when i right click i only get an open not an open with then when i tick to choose program microsoft office shows but not microsoft powerpoint0

Thank you everyone it worked, guess i will have this problem until i have converted all the different files, does anyone know of any dummies guide to windows7 and office 2010.. Thanks again0

No you don't, all files you double click that have the file extension .ppt should now open with Powerpoint.No free lunch, and no free laptop

As long as you ticked the 'always use this programme' box... It'll open all powerpoint documents0
