Solid Fuel Roomheater the best !

Ive said it for years. A real fire is best and the cheapest. Ever since childhood when my parents had an open fire Ive always loved the real flame.
So I had a Trianco 45000BTU Solid Fuel Roomheater (glass door and closed at front) fitted to my timber framed chalet by the sea (very large heat loss compared to brick house) and even on low settings it gets too hot for me during winter.
I run domestic hot water and central heating (7 radiators) off the heat it generates and would get even more value from it if I decided to fit a mixer shower. One can always shut off radiators in unused rooms to maximise the heat where it is needed.
I effectively get "economies of scale" from running all heating requirements from the one source. The solid fuel heater is positioned in the middle of the chalet in the lounge, rather than on the outside of an exterior wall, so every small amount of heat that radiates through the chimney brick heats somewhere inside, before it exits finally through the walls, thus increasing efficiency.
Solid fuel may be a shade messy and dusty but by jove, its effective, no dearer than other methods, ( probably cheaper when you consider my system makes use of as much heat as possible,) and gives a great atmospheric feel on cold dark winter nights. Roomheaters are usually under £1000 (mine was £750), need no service except cleaning once a year by oneself, and last years. Win all ways round!.
