I think I have found the most expensive credit card charge

I was just about to complete a transaction with eDreams for budget Ryanair flights for myself and my wife from Alicante to Madrid (cost:£13.87 each), when the final page showed an increase in the price of 26.77! Then as a final coup de grace, when you click on the card type, it shows a further charge of £35.06, so instead of paying £27.74, you end up paying £89.57 for 2 tickets. What a rip-off! To add insult to injury, I have re-entered the site twice and each time the flight cost shows £13.87.

What is the price on the Ryanair site for the same flight with fees?
  • £86.36...not much difference only the card charges are less with Ryanair.

How is £90 for flights abroad a 'rip off'? You do realise how fortunate you are being able to do so?

I was thinking that too, it seems quite a small amount for 2 flights, how would anyone expect an airline to provide a flight for £13.87 ?
  • I think you have both missed the point. My criticism is not of the final price, but of the charge for using a credit card which is over £35. This charge was hidden until the very last point in the transaction, and I think that all charges should be up-front.

Then why should a business be able to advertise at that price.

Regardless of the value it seems an unfair way of trying to attract custom.

Thats why Ryanair dont approve of 3rd party sites.

If you had booked that flight via https://www.Ryanair.com and paid with a PP Mastercard then you would only pay £13.87 as advertised.
