Just wondering if you consider the following rooms to be too small?
Master bedroom:

Bedroom Two:
7' 3" x 9' 11" (2.2m x 3.02m)
Bedroom Three:
6' 7" x 10' 6" (2m x 3.19m)

No. I wouldn't but everything depends on the size of your household and whether those room sizes include any fitted storage.0

If you've 6 kids then maybe...0

The master is fine, the others are a bit on the small size, but it does depend on the type of house - for period/victorian etc houses thats pretty standard, but for 30s-50s houses I would be expecting something larger.0

I'd personally want a house with at least two double bedrooms, if a three bed house.
Some vicorian terraces have good double bedrooms (huge master, mid sized and then just about a double)- double bay fronted is a good indication.
30s/50's semis in my area tend to have two comparably big bedrooms but the third is often too small to be of any use apart from a study, so swings and roundaboutsEmergency savings: 4600

Bedrooms 1 and 3 are about average size for what they are, Bedroom 2 is small for a second bedroom, unless there is built in furniture. In the 1970s/80s some builders built "small" 3 bed houses, with 1 double and 2 single bedrooms rather than the standard 2 doubles and 1 single. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

rabbit hutch? it would be illegal to keep pigs in such small places. It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Thankyou everyone. The reason I asked is because we have our house up for sale and the only feedback we ever get is that the downstairs is fine size wise, but the upstairs is way too small to do anything with. At the moment we have a double bed in all three rooms as well as bedside cabinets, a wardrobe, tv etc.
Not really much we can do about the size, its never been a problem for us but we dont have children running around so maybe thats a big factor. Its a detached house built in 2001 if it makes any difference.
geoffky, thanks for that, made me laugh

I think a double bed in room #3 will certainly make the upstairs look too small, and it's a bit borderline whether a double bed is doing you any favours in room #2. It's about presenting it to its best, and if this is the feedback you're getting then it might be worth seeing whether you can change that aspect. Will either of the bed frames in #2 or #3 come apart so that you can put them in the loft and put a single bed off freecycle into the space, for example?0

When we were in the Falklands we sent a letter asking the ministry of agriculture asking them is it was ok to keep two pigs in a room the size of ours and they wrote back saying they would prosecute us if we did...we posted the letter everywhere...It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?

A single bed in bedroom 2 would put people off as in a 3 bedroom house you would expect 2 double rooms.
You need to create the illusion of space.
You are better clearing all clutter in the room, ensuring the decor is as plain as possible i.e. don't put extra pillows and cushions on the bed, and leave only the bed and wardrobe in the room.
If you rearrange the room and there is space without the room looking cramped you can put in a small chest of draws or bedside cabinet. However the bedside cabinet doesn't necessarily need to be right next to the bed.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
