I’ve always been reasonably active and fairly fit but I have taken this for granted, so I’ve been making more of an effort recently. I’m trying to get into an easy routine so that I will keep it up rather than let it slide. I’m not super fit by any means but I do feel better for making the effort and I know you will too.

Hello Elnora and thanks for dropping by :) I'm another one who's always taken a certain level of fitness for granted. I don't know how old you are, but personally I found menopause screwed me over in multiple ways! Weight gain, loss of shape, loss of natural fitness - the list goes on. Everything is a bit harder work now, but so worth it and I'm feeling very motivated right now.
Great goals Happy - I'm joining you.........:D

Well, Day I has gone very well, like Day 1 usually does. It's the longer haul where the challenge is.

Zero alcohol - Made it. And I deserve extra kudos because there's an open bottle of red sat on my kitchen worktop. I have walked past it several times tonight without diving in or even dribbling excessively.
Maximum of 1400 calories per day, to include 5 x fruit and veg and just one sweet treat. 1246 calories in, including loads of vegetation. Sweet treat was a mini Magnum. It was lovely, but a tad small!
Six glasses of water per day Yep
Daily dog walk at a fast pace Done, probably about two miles.
No looking at my phone in bed. I have an addiction here which is seriously affecting my sleep. I'm off to bed now and I will leave my phone out of reach, face down. Bet I can't sleep :(
No money wasting. Balance YNAB daily. Not been anywhere to spend money so it was easy. YNAB balanced fine.

I've been home working today but tomorrow I'm in the office with all the temptations of our tuck shop. I sit right next to it.....

I have just got to the other side of the menopause. In some respects, I have been quite lucky as I didn’t put weight on but my stomach muscles gave up any pretence of being toned and now, I’m quite wobbly which doesn’t sit well with me at all.

I do walk regularly but last Friday I read that The Duchess of Cambridge can hold the Plank for 45 seconds. It didn’t seem a great achievement so I thought I’d have a go. Well, it is a great achievement and a long time - all kudos to her - it brought home to me, though, that walking wasn’t enough and I needed to make more effort. So, I started a morning exercise routine and I can now hold the position for 30 seconds – getting there!

I only do around 20 minutes exercise and surprisingly I do feel better even after such a short space of time. I am aiming to make this part of my daily routine and intend to build up the time and exercise.

Well done on completing day 1 - particularly resisting the wine. I’ll keep popping in to cheer you and everyone else on.

I hope you managed to resist the temptations of the tuck shop.

I'm ashamed to say that I've pinched your list of targets with a little tweak here and there!:o

I'm starting tomorrow as everything went a bit haywire this morning as I overslept, forgot my lunch and ended up in Pret!

Well done on resisting the wine!::D

I've never even tried the plank but it looks easy enough. NOT!:rotfl:
I do think I need to up the exercise - proper toning stuff - so I might start that in September.

Ooh, same targets, direct competition :D . Even more incentive to keep it up!

All still going well on Day 2.

Zero alcohol - Felt a bit deprived without my Friday wine, but I'm over it. That half bottle of red is still sat there. Tomorrow I intend to tip it down the sink which will be a first!
Maximum of 1400 calories per day, to include 5 x fruit and veg and just one sweet treat. Well my Fitbit says I've had 1492 calories today, but I think I over-estimated on a home-made quorn bolognese and rice. I guessed at 530 but it was probably less. It meant that I couldn't afford my sweet treat but no matter. Deffo 5 x F & V.
Six glasses of water per day Yep. This one's not hard, it's just a matter of remembering.
Daily dog walk at a fast pace Done, but only a mile due to the pouring rain. The dogs hate rain even more than me.
No looking at my phone in bed. I have an addiction here which is seriously affecting my sleep. Amazingly I got straight off to sleep last night and slept for 7 hours. The night before I'd hardly slept at all though which probably explains it. Let's see what tonight brings.
No money wasting. Balance YNAB daily. Called in Tesco on way to work for a £3 meal deal and chose all healthy stuff, other than sugar-free Red Bull. No other spends. YNAB balanced fine.

How generous of you to help the Young Happies on their home quest. Of course you could have paid off more of your unsecured debt but interest rates are low, so it's the right time to be launching them both if that's what they both want to do. I hope Miss Happy's enjoying her first home of her own - I loved mine, a two bedroom starter home, and I couldn't have bought it without my parents help.

The menopause - everything changes afterwards, some of it for the better and some decidedly not. It's definitely tougher losing weight and as for tummy muscles, well, best not go there.

Targets. I'd like to join in if I may. I've managed to get myself into the routine of cleaning my teeth twice daily with my electric toothbrush which was one of the things I wanted to make myself do but boy did that take forever; cracked now though. I've also managed to deal with the lack of liquid intake and now manage two litres a day as a habit and Layla makes me walk a couple of miles a day every day, regardless of weather which was exhausting but after four months is becoming slightly easier. I don't drink, so I'm going for the ones that really are tough for me:
• Lose more weight, ideally down to 65kgs by 1 September;
• 15 minutes Flying a day, Monday to Friday;
• Leg stretches, one minutes for each stretch;
• Lights out by 11.30 pm (I too have a screen addiction and have taken to watching slightly bizarre Youtube videos late at night - sadly rather addictive.)
Thanks for going back to this, Happy. I kind of missed it, but then again I could have done it on my own. It wouldn't have been the same though.
Better is good enough.
• Hi Happy, I followed Seaside over here. Why not freeze the wine? Ideally in ice cube trays but then you can use it in cooking. It doesn't count for your challenge as the alcohol burns off but the flavour remains.

All going well Happy - excellent idea from redo so you don't waste that precious wine!: My first day went well - though I was shattered after my 30 minute walk complete with vertical hill! I'm so unfit - I really need this plan!

And great that Honey's joining the campaign too!

Honey! I'm really pleased you're in :)

Good targets. Flying is definitely on my September list.

I'm typing this at 11.45 which tells everything about my night routine. I just don't have one - I stay up 'til all hours, then go to bed and play on my phone. For August I'm focusing on ditching the phone, then September will see me aim for an actual bedtime.
