joeyjimbles wrote: »I don't have a fitbit yet but have just been signed up to a local running group for novices - for mums only. I can see that after my beautiful aqua trainers that I purchased today, a fitbit or similar may be next. My friend runs this group and I said I would join when the nights were lighter and the weather a bit warmer, so she came round this morning with all my forms filled in ready for my signature - she knows me rather better than I thought she did. I've been promised its gentle and gradual so I will let you know as it goes on.
Sometimes we just need a gentle push. The groups sounds fun, and running together makes it seem easier. I still run every Sunday, but if I didn't go with a friend I doubt I would do it. Hmm, I'm trying to come up with the collective noun for a group of running mums.... A joggle of mums? A natter of mums? A stagger? A train?
The joys of really good customer service were not lost on me today, I had pretty much an hour and a half consultation where the chap watched me run, measured all sorts of bits of my foot and then recommended the cheapest pair of the 10 I'd tried. You've got to love a really proper sports job, independent and in business for over 60 years, and he gave me a discount because I mentioned the running group too. I just checked the same trainers online and they would be £10-25 dearer almost everywhere else so it ended up being MSE too.
Bargain, well done. Aqua too, very pretty
I have £10 off my next Avon order so I may use it for some of their foot stuff which is reputed to be quite good. I've been using their hair dye for a few months, its certainly as good and much cheaper than the brand I used to buy, and this month's sale brochure has it at buy one get two free - is it naughty if my next order will be for twelve of them? They don't put a limit on it but I don't want to be greedy. What do you think?
I completely agree with the others - go for it. They are on offer to be sold and you would buy them anyway over the months at full price, so why not?
Didn't make it back yesterday for an update, so this is for two days:- Get the budget back on track. £27 for a haircut today and once again I gave her £30 and said she could keep the change (because I know her mum and don't want to seem tight )
- Eat healthily. This is going very well, but I know it's because I will have to wear shorts in less than seven weeks
- Seven hours in bed per night Yep, but I was awake for three of them
- Neat feet Both feet grated and creamed before bed last night. They don't look any different and it makes a mess on the carpet. Must persevere.

Not doing too badly, but some areas are better not being mentioned...
The reason I'm not posting progress is because I'm mostly using my phone and it's such a pain trying to type stuff.
Will do an update tonight. I hope!A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

My April has been a disaster especially on the food/weight front so it's a good job I didn't set any targets although maybe if I had then I wouldn't have had such a bad month. I will definitely need to be back on it in May.0 -

One useful thing about it is that it's easy to see the areas that need work AND those that are actually not too bad.
So. What are the aims for May then? (Kicks April's figures swiftly under the rug... :rotfl:)A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

No clue yet, I think I need to go back to the drawing board and prioritise so that I can concentrate on just a few things. If I try and focus on too much, I know that I will fail at all of them.0 -
I think Our Glorious Leader may be on to something with fewer, very straightforward targets.Better is good enough.0

Good job I'm here, flying the flag for all that is worthy.
Get the budget back on track Spent £13.11 at Tessies on mainly healthy stuff and £3 on the office lottery (I know, I know, but what if......!)
Eat healthily According to my fitbit I ate 1722 calories yesterday (mostly healthy apart from a glass of wine and a Fry's Chocolate Cream) and burnt 1789. That'll do.
Spend seven hours in bed Managed 6 hrs 41 mins in bed, of which 27 mins were spent awake or restless. Fitbit nerdiness at its best!
Neat feet They still don't look any different. Maybe I just have naturally hideous plates. I am going to persevere. Keeping the E45 next to the bed is definitely the answer.LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!
