Was doing OK on the eating, but celebrated the start of weekend with a Chicago Town pizza

Talking of pizza... do I remember you saying that you have a second Pizza Express voucher (2 mains for £2.50) to use? Just a reminder that they run out tomorrow. Only thought of it because I bought two and we are using the second one today.

Dolphin1 - thank you, thank you SO much for mentioning that. I do have another one and I was going to use it next Friday to take Miss H for lunch when she's home from uni-town. I read your post and checked my voucher and you're right, tomorrow is the last day. It was soooo nearly wasted. Anyway, quick change of plan and Mr H and I are now going this evening and Miss H can have a sandwich at home on Friday :D.

Wouldn't it be good/spooky if we were at the same one at the same time! You're not in Yorkshire by any chance, are you? Mine will taste all the better for being saved from expiring, so thanks again for the prompt and I hope you really enjoy your pizza x

You are welcome Mrs H! Didn't want you to miss out, normally Tesco give you six months to spend your vouchers but this was a special offer so had a short date.

Weirdly enough, we are in Yorkshire (won't say where for obvious reasons) but we used ours at lunchtime (lovely as usual) so no chance of being in the same one at the same time. Have a lovely evening out!

Yesterday's Pizza Express was lovely. Thanks again for the reminder Dolphin1 :). Gardiniera for me and a risotto for Mr H. We tried to resist cheesecake but just couldn't, so the total bill including two diet cokes was £15.55. YNAB only had £12 in 'entertainment' so I had to burgle the petrol fund. Ah well, I could do with walking a bit instead of driving, to work off some of this pizza; Chicago Town on Friday, Pizza Express yesterday and tomorrow will be the O2 Priority Moment £1 Dominos lunch :o. Hmm, might be overdoing it a bit, best try and calm it down!

Other weekend spends were £44 for animal feed/bedding, plus £36 at M*talan on a cabin-sized suitcase and a fold-away backpack. They'd sent me a 20% off voucher so that took £9 off what were good prices anyway, and both covered in YNAB's 'holiday' pot.

Another two kitchen units have been cleared, scrubbed and waxed. I'm beginning to wish we had a smaller kitchen, it's taking forever and I'm only half-way through.

And nothing to report on the healthy eating or exercise front. I'm not too worried because I know that soon the 'OMG-I've-got-to-lie-by-a-swimming-pool-and-wear-shorts-soon' panic will set in and I'll get my will-power back with a flourish. I'm still eating loads more fruit and veg than I used to do, but I do seem to be topping it up with lots of chocolate again.

Glad you enjoyed Pizza Express Mrs H, sorry it sabotaged the "beach bod" target though! :o Hope you don't find it too difficult to get back on track. :)

Wow! That's so MSE! In my drinking days we could never get out of PE for less than £40 even with an offer, so *respect*. Your pizza fest sounds like heaven; I absolutely adore it. I think of it as a baked open sandwhich, so I'm allowed that fairly frequently. :rotfl:

You've inspired me. The last time the kitchen had a spring clean was when I first started on the Flylady thread which was about three years ago. I mostly sort of manage to keep abreast of it but I have to admit it hasn't had a 'top of the units' scrub ... for three years. So following on from your excellent example I started on it yesterday, which was helped by Dusty's list focussing on the kitchen. I want to turn out the rest of the cupboards today and do the oven which should finish it. It took a week three years ago, it was that bad; this time it will take two days thanks to the Flylady thread because it's never been allowed to get that bad again. It was pretty bad.
    Better is good enough.

    • Still making myself drink at least four mugs of fruit tea and I think it's helping but it wasn't the only answer and I eventually realised I probably need to boost my iron intake. That shift in energy levels has been quite dramatic. It's always interesting finding the right balance even though I know I eat well healthily.
    • The papers don't seem to occupy as much of my time as they used to, but I don't know if that's a passing phase. I hope not because it's a great time waster.
    • We both kept reading after midnight on Friday and Saturday and the difference is very noticeable. I like this midnight curfew and OH is now very disciplined about it as well, so that's a terrificly positive change.
    • Lovely Lodger, aka The Dishwasher Fairy, is due back within a week and will stay until nearly the end of the year. Her mother grew up in a house with an earth floor and is hugely houseproud; this makes her daughter rather good at cleaning and she finds it cathartic. Excellent. (It also means that there is a minimum standard required in the kitchen and two days work should mean that our reaches it!)
    Better is good enough.

Definitely worth it. Anyway, I think age and gravity have done far more damage to my beach bod than any food ever could, so I might just as well enjoy the pizza and cheesecake :D. I really hope Tessies do that offer again, it was right up my street and very MSE.

Pizza and chocolate are my two favourite foods. I don't have a 'stop, that's enough' switch though, I could seriously eat them for every meal. Except breakfast. Breakfast is always porridge.

It took a week three years ago, it was that bad; this time it will take two days thanks to the Flylady thread because it's never been allowed to get that bad again. It was pretty bad.
I am pretty confident mine was worse, and half of it still is!
So, my update. It covers two days because I couldn't get on here yesterday.
    • No spends yesterday apart from my £1 Dominos pizza, which is essential Monday outlay. Today I scored another O2 freebie, which was a hot chocolate drink (with added cream) from Caf! Nero. Not really a saving because I wouldn't have bought it, but a luxurious treat and I always feel like Carrie Bradshaw carrying one of those cardboard cups around town. Sadly that's my only resemblance to her!
    • Beach bod. Hmm, far too much pizza and chocolate going on to claim any victory here, but the rest of the diet has been OK with plenty of water and no alcohol. Still no toning exercises though.
    • Yesterday's spring cleaning was all outdoors. Two lawns mowed and I hope to finish the rest tonight. I would love to be able to afford to employ a gardener because it's just plain hard work and I don't even enjoy it much. I do like it to look nice though, so needs must. Hope to do another kitchen unit tonight.

    Two-lawns Happy?! Sorry, couldn't resist.

Chocolate and pizza, I couldn't agree more. As for porridge, OH is extremely good at making it so it's breakfast in this house, too, but only in the colder months. It's the only breakfast that keeps me going until lunch time, nothing else works.
    Better is good enough.
