1. Dog-related expenses. She's totally worth it and the test results were good, the treats food important just to get her to eat. Even the vet agrees that whatever she'll eat is the right food for her at this stage.
2. Still not updated the SS from the other day or today. Must do better.
3. AF. A night out, very pleasant on BBs all the way through.
4. Porridge, bacon and eggs for lunch, Wevverspoons steak etc.
5. Sultanas, beetroot juice, peas, dried apricots, tomatoes.
6. Three mugs of fruit tea.
7. On again off again Flying. Cancelled visit reinstated with 40 minutes notice while I was on the way to the vet. Much cursing, and 20 minutes back at home racing around hiding clutter as there was no time to rehome it all properly, plus fast-forward-speed vacuuming. Stuff piled behind a door so visitor couldn't see it and subsequently shoved in wardrobe when no-one was looking.
8. In bed by 11.15.
9. No time for even turning the computer on for Spider - I don't play it on this one.Better is good enough.0 -

. It was Honey Bear I was growling at over the fruit and veg. Mr Happy is like Mr Pooh and eats whatever I put in front of him (with a side helping of 'bacon sandwich' on his way to work most days!). Some of the meals are quite inventive/weird because I am determined not to waste any food this month. He was given baked beans and vegetarian sausages with broccoli on Tuesday - all hoovered up without comment

A very quick entry before Little Miss gets up. We don't need to drive to her second uni interview today because SHE WAS OFFERED A PLACE AT HER FIRST CHOICE YESTERDAY! WHOOP! That means that she will be moving back to our town in June once her degree is completed. Her boyfriend will apply for a transfer in his own job to a local branch, and they will look for a place together to rent for a year or so until she (hopefully) is a qualified teacher and working. I am so thrilled that things seem to be slotting into place for her after her awful illness last year.
On the less exciting side, I have really fallen off the Fab Feb wagon. Still no alcohol, and my YNAB is up to date which I think are my two priorities, but I have eaten all sorts of cr*p and not been drinking any water. Ah well, Little Miss goes back to uni tonight and I will start afresh.
Honey Bear - I loved your description of the mad emergency fly-round for the unexpected guest!! I've done similar loads of times, very stressful!LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Huge congratulations for Miss Happy's first choice offer, particularly in the circumstances of her illness last year. Something lovely to look forward to which is always a bonus in life.
1. Massive expense incurred yesterday, which will be the last. A very sad day with a lot of crying. The vet was lovely and the cat was furious he wasn't the centre of attention. No matter how many times we explained to him that he really didn't want to be, he carried on displaying all of his party tricks and working on seducing the vet and her nurse.
2. Still not updated the SS from the other day or today. Must do better.
3. AF. Seriously considered getting drunk but realised that it wasn't going to make things better, so had a couple of BBs to celebrate the dog's life instead.
4. Boiled egg and soldiers, cheese on beans on toast and a snack of Brazil nuts later.
5. Beetroot juice, dried apricots and beans. Not one of my better days.
6. Two mugs of fruit tea.
7. Haven't degibbled the various nooks and crannies stuffed in a hurry, but all the dog's stuff has been put away where I don't have to see it. Her basket and assorted fleeces, cushions, coat and towels are all in the shower room waiting to be washed and stored away. I'll have to do them today because the one or two nights a week lodger is due today. I vacuumed up the various bits of half-chewed dog biscuits and black hair so the bedroom looks immaculate (for us) but I hate it. I preferred the dog detritus and having the scruffy dog about.
8. In bed by 10.00 but spent hours on the forums, reading blogs and various newspapers.

Thank you Happy Now and Granny2.
I seriously considered raiding the hobnob tins and boxes yesterday as I'd baked a batch especially for R's visit so we had rather a lot. OH forgot about them at teatime and I decided that I was going to see if I could manage without. I'd forgotten about the fruit pastilles completely as I'd asked OH to hide them for the rest of Feburary.
If I need them today, I think I'll allow myself the indulgence. I'm currently washing her towels and have cut up a piece of foam rubber to replace the base cushion in the dog basket, so I'm thinking about her and doing something that I find quite comforting in preparation for when we get the next dog. I think I can't be without one anymore, but as most rescue centres don't seem very adept at working out which of their dogs are deaf, finding the right one is quite a challenge. I knew when I saw Honey Bear (after whom I am named) and I certainly knew when I saw Mrs Dog, then named Megan. We currently haven't got a dog sitter because the local one had a baby last year, so I might put off adopting until after we've had a quick trip to Brittany for my birthday in April. We'll see - if the right dog presents all bets are off.Better is good enough.0 -
