Giff Gaff

Options
Does anyone have any experience of using Giff Gaff sims? The £10 bundle seems like a great deal for the unlocked iphone 4S I got for Christmas but a bit concerned they don't have any customer service. If I port my number to them and there are issues I might be a bit stuck.

I am planning to go with them in January. I have read a lot of positive feedback on this forum about them.

With the iPhone 4 you may have trouble because it uses a Micro-SIM - they are physically identical except that a real SIM has plastic around the edges.

Giff Gaff do not supply these but you can cut down a SIM to size - I have heard phone shops can do this for a quid or two, or you can follow a guide such as

I've only been using Giffgaff for 3 months (when i got a new phone).
I have found the services to be very straightforward. Porting my old number was problem-free and, where i have had a query that i couldn't solve on the giffgaff forum, I had an email response from the 'help' team very quickly.
I top up each month and that is so simple to do too!

So far, i would highly recommend!

They are O2 group Telifonica .

You dont need to buy the bundles but can use straight forward PAYG .

Never had a problem and saved plenty .

In my sencond month on GiffGaff so far, no problems to speak of, and I've saved £35 pcm to put towards a shiny new phone every 12 months!
  • Its basically O2s budget network think of it as tesco value from O2 :D

The network service is same but customer service is all self answered through forum.

I've been with Giffgaff since August with no problems. Porting my number went smoothly and my husband has now joined them too so we get free calls & texts to each other. I've also earned £25 for introducing people as both I and the new 'Giffgaffer' gets £5 credit.
(I won't post my referral link here but feel free to send me a message if you want to be referred and us both get credit.)

  • Hi, I too have been with giffgaff since the summer. I ported my number and had no problems with them. I purchase the £10 bundle which gives me unlimited Internet and some calls and texts. The other thing I like is the free calls to other giffgaff users - so I moved my son to it too so at least I know he can always call me even if he runs out of credit.

    Definitely recommended.
  • Thanks for all the responses, I feel reassured now. Thanks also to those that sent me links to get a free £5 but my husband has already ordered me a SIM. Hopefully it will arrive soon and I can start to enjoy my new phone :-)
