Sounds like it may of got a siezed water pump or tensioner if its making a high pitched squeal when trying to turn over certainly sounds engine to me and not electrical but then that doesnt explain why it hasnt got any fuel pressure however thinking again if the pumps fell to pieces that would make the noise and obviously affect fuel pressure im wondering if your pump hasnt siezed keep us posted be interesting to see what it is hopefully not expensive but if its the pump be prepared they are big money

I only got it at end of October so will be speaking to garage in morning, am sure there was 3 month warranty included with it but all paperwork at home so I can't check will just have to call them and keep fingers and toes crossed.

Going by the description of the sound made it would appear to me that the solenoid on the starter is jammed / not working thereby causing the starter motor itself to whizz around without actually engaging with the flywheel ring gear and therefore failing to turn / start the engine.

That said, if the Green Flag man couldn't diagnose it (if that is indeed the problem) then they need to seriously think about which garages they sub-contract to for breakdowns!
