Locating NatWest account number.

My sister has a NatWest visa debit card. She can't remember the PIN & doesn't know how much is in the account.
She'd rather not go IN to the branch.
So figured she'd register for online banking & have a see that way.
All was going well until one of the questions was sort code & account number. I found what looks like a sort code, but there's no account number.
Click the "help" link & it says that the a/c number will be on a statement, so i ask her about her statements.
She said it's been a "long long time" since she last had one.
Is the account number a portion of the 16 digit number or is her ONLY option to go in branch?
Thanks.

Why doesn't she phone them ? They'll reissue the PIN number for her and give her the balance.0

She will have to go into a branch unless they can locate something on with the account number.
I doubt Actionline will be able to help unless they are registered for the service, im presuming they are not as you was attempting to register for online banking.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
They should be able to locate the account details from the card number over the phone.0

They wont give them any information will they unless they are registered for telephone banking.
Unless the CTC still do 2QV and I thought they stopped that yonks ago.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
If the account has not been used for some time it might be dormant.0

So will they give the account number and/or PIN over the phone then as others have said, or can we not agree on whether they will or wont do that?0 -
Was possibly used about 2 years ago perhaps.

Personally I do not think they will do it over the telephone unless you are a member of telephone banking.
A while ago they used to ask you questions regarding your account to verify the customer, ie ask you to confirm your overdraft limit etc however im sure they stopped doing that a while ago (I could be wrong though).
Give telephone banking a call and ask the question least you'll get to find out then alls they an do is say no.
Is there a reason for not just visiting a branch with some ID.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

What are CTC and 2QV?So will they give the account number and/or PIN over the phone then as others have said, or can we not agree on whether they will or wont do that?
They most definitely will not give the PIN over the phone, and nobody ever said they would. They won't even know the PIN, -only the computer system and the customer should ever know this. If you have forgotten the PIN you can request a new one but it will be sent to you in the post.0 -

So just call them up on one of their numbers & they'll send a PIN out through the post?
If so, then that'll do fine.0
