Or buy the votives and cut them in half or quarters. Then you can burn them just like the tarts :D I do this and have saved loads, and it means I can use the votive more than once.

Oh and Yankeedoodle are stopping selling Yankee candles once they have run out of stock. They are now selling Kringle candles, which IMO aren't as nice as yankees.. :D

  • Thanks op. I had no idea about yankee candles until this site. Bought rubbish glade ones, say no more. Decided to give it a go. Much better value when half price and better scent. Ordered the green xmas tree one. Wont match my decor but i am sure i will find a home for it somewhere. Many thanx. New found yankee fan.

Yankee virgin here. Do you mean quartering them vertically wick included?
  • @Peas

I do the halving and quartering of samplers also. I cut mine down the middle lengthways, remove the wick, then either leave it halved or cut both halves in half. They really last much longer this way.

do u just let the wax melt in a candle burner? how long does a quarter size last? sorry. really keen to try this as i only light the candle the normal way and usually leave it for 2-3 hours or longer in the kitchen..
i wish i have live my life a little bit off the book, took a chance and gamble

jazz yes you just let the bit you have cut melt as normal in the burner, rather like you would a normal tart. They can last a longish time depending on the fragrance :D I had a Christmas Cookie quarter burning yesterday and it was smelling for almost 8 hours - I did use the 8 hour tea lights that you can buy in Wilkinsons.

Libretia* I'm glad I'm not the only that does the quartering.. :D I've even told people in my Yankee shop about this..funnily enough the owner had even heard this too.. Small world eh? Plus I find for an extra 50p when buying the votive you sort of get 3 extra tarts than if you were buying one tart :D

Another yankee candle noob here, *curious* would you say 10 tarts for £8.99 is a good online deal? (w/ free p+p)

I'm thinking that it just might be, but any advice would be appreciated of course! :D
