Hi keystone et al. It's a Trevi therm mark 2 and a Trevi therm built in valve. Dh now thinks that there are no pumps. Does anyone know how to get instruction/installation details to find out how to get at filters. Or is it just a case of turning off water and going in.......

Thank you for caring so much. Boring really. He couldn't find any pumps of any description but spoke to a plumber friend this morning who suggested that the filters could be blocked. Apparently you should clean them annually and we've had them 7 years and never done it once. Also he suggested that the cartridges might need replacing.
Good - thats two opinions that match then. Makes a nice change. :D
Now we just have to work out how to get to the filters. Been googling installation instructions today but can't really find out how to get at filters.
See answer to your later post.
Both showers were fitted at the same time but I still find it hard to believe that both filters or cartridges have 'gone' at the same time.
Yes me too as previously stated but its not impossible.

    Cheers

The Megaflo is an unvented system that provides hot water at mains pressure and thats why, despite several hours searching, your OH won't have located a single shower pump. Sorry to contradict you.

    Sorry for delay in replying.

OK then , please see exploded diagrams of both built in and exposed valves:

    Built In

    Exposed

Dont be put off all they do is show how it all fits together.

The thermo cartridge is Number 19 in the built in and number 27 in the exposed. It is exactly the same one used in both valves - expect to have to pay iro £100 each. The inlet filters are more challenging and you'll need to get right inside the valve body to get to them they will be where the cold and cold pipese enter the valve body. If you do replace the cartridge you should also replace the filters irrespective.

The handles and all the other gubbins will come off really easily - just note how it all fits and lay it out on a sheet of paper as you take it apart so as to make reassembly easy for you. Its when you get to the cartridge that you may have a challenge - particularly if its not been touche for 7 years. You'll notice from the diagram that at the front end of the cartridge there is a hexagonal nut. This needs to be undone and will require a suitably sized box spanner and either just the right amount of knowledge and experience or alternatively an awful lot of ignorance.

Once its out its easily replaced. Replace the O rings whilst you are in there.

    Cheers

Hi keystone and canucklehead. thank you so much for your replies. DH has taken both showers apart today . He took the cartridges out and cleaned the gauze around them. They were really quite clean anyway. Are these the inlet filters you are talking about or are there other filters inside the valves that need to be accessed. if so, how do you get to these. Could you possibly give us the number of the part as shown on your line diagram. Thanks again
