We bought my favourite waste of money items off ebay...4 gents black umbrellas, and 2 clear dome brollies with purple trim for me and my BM. Totally wasted as the sun shone all day and there literally wasn't a cloud in the sky but it was mid October so we decided we'd take precautions!
    I also bought:
Cufflinks for OH, his son and my sons
    Guest book
    Post box
    Signature frame
Silk flower cake toppers (absolutely stunning)
Stands for table name card holders
    Silk flowers for table decorations
And I would have got scatter crystals, mirror tiles and vases if I hadn't got easy access to Ikea and a wonderful trade warehouse shop
I'm now waiting on people to get into wedding buying mode as I have a shed full of stuff I need to re-home!

If you are looking for inspiration look at some of the wedding blogs and other sites such as MArtha Stewart etc. They have lots of ideas which you could then look for on Ebay. What is your 'theme' or feel of wedding? Where is the reception? Also, keep an eye on what other brides are doing, if their wedding is before yours they may well sell directly to you, cutting out the middle man. Search on facebook too for local sites if you are a member too. I have found supermarkets great for centre piece ideas - very low cost cases and hurricane lanterns etc.

A wishing well sounds nice, especially if you can put it to good use after.

I just can't think what stuff I could buy off ebay to make out big day cheaper now!
any ideas at all what I could buy off there? just throw any ideas into the wind :)

Are you looking for something just for the sake of getting something cheap on ebay, or do you actually have things you need to get?
If there's nothing else you need, then not buying anything will make your wedding cheaper ;)
But seriously, it's easy to get carried away with the little extras.
Why would you need a guestbook AND a wishing tree for example.
And the wishing well - is that for cards & gifts? Most people will just give them to the groomsmen who will put them in a designated safe place.
