Hmv rant

Went to HMV yesterday with a voucher I'd been given for Xmas. Spent forever (well about 30 mins) deciding what to buy with it about another 30 mins queing to pay for it only to be told that the 'voucher system' was down.
I asked why they didnt have signs up to tell people to save them queing. The mardy arsed bandit behind the till told me they did have someone walking up and down the queue earlier but according to him he was 'a bit bloody busy mate'. I walked out! Ill go back in the new year to spend the voucher and probably get something i really dont want just to be rid of it.
and relax

One day some company will do what they say they will do and charge a fair charge.:T
Not doing the opposite of that which they promise and charge you a fortune for the privileged.
Or maybe not:mad:

Exactly the same happened to me. Wanted rid of the gift card as I have no faith in HMV surviving for long.
Firstly irritated to see the cards could only be used in store, not online.
Queued up for ages, only to be told their voucher system was down. Brief rant at a bloke who looked like he had a clue, and the system magically stared working - they were quite capable of putting the vouchers through by typing in the code, it was only swiping the cards that wasn't working.0 -
I went in today intending to use a gift card I got for Christmas... didn't pick anything up. even with using a gift card £15 for a DVD that costs £6 in Blockbusters didn't seem that appealing.
will go in and have a better look for some bargains when it's less busy.
no wonder they are going down the pan with prices like that!!0 -
It sounds like one of those Unavoidable errors. It's nobody's fault relax and stop being a c0ck about itThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

With a voucher you know what they have so you can cheat the till. With a card you have no idea. Therefore it's not the guys fault the IT is downThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Sorry, I wasn't particularly clear. On the reverse of the gift card is a code - they could manually enter this and use the card. This is what they did with my card.It sounds like one of those Unavoidable errors. It's nobody's fault relax and stop being a c0ck about it
Love and hugs to you too.
It's entirely the stores fault that they didn't put signs up on the door to say they couldn't accept gift cards. The systems may be down, that doesn't mean they have to let customers queue for ages.0 -

Yes I accept it's the stores fault. But what annoys me about posts like this is the shop assistant is on minimum wage and will have no input on the stores policy or issue however will be abused by customers as if it's there fault! This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
