We are on the 3 for £30 deal with NTL. We have recently converted our garage into a playroom and ideally I would like to have and additional internet connection to run a 2nd computer in there. I dont know what these connections are called , so advice please. Also if we have a 2nd computer running , will they up our charges ?
Yeah I know it sound daft, but I want to know ,so I dont get sucked into something I dont understand .
Thanks

Hello
ntl would only install another connection point if you are paying for an additional modem and broadband connection which obviously you don't want to do. The best option would be to buy a router, you can then either run a cable from your existing point through to the playroom or have a wireless connection which would probably be better as you won't have cables trailing all over the place.
You'll need to check if the 2nd PC has a wireless card, if not they can be picked up for a reasonable price if thats the option you want to go with.
I sorted my neighbours out with a wired connection and their router was only £20, it runs like a dream so both their kids can surf at the same time without arguementsITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0 -
If you use a router you can have quite a few PCs using the same connection.
At one time, we had 6 PCs, 3 PS2s, a PSP and an Ipaq all connected to one broadband connection.
The 6 PCs and Ipaq are still very often connected at the same time.0 -
You need a router (preferably a wireless one). Your cable modem plugs into this and then your second computer either plugs into it also, or has a wireless connection.
You do not need NTL to do anything and they will not charge you more.0 -
You need a router like this.
