Could be that if it is an old wood floor the joists have started rotting from damp and is on the move. Dodgy.

I really don't think it matters that much in the greater scheme of things TBH. Wherever its leaking from if it only leaks when someone sits on the wretched thing then something is sorely amiss and it needs sorting and pdq at that. Only a face-to-face confrontation with the beastie will do.
