Best place for smart Ladies Suit? I'm skint!

Options
Hi I've just got the fantastic news that I've got a job interview on Monday! :j

I therefore need a cheap but expensive looking suit to wear. I do have one which I got from Next clearance a year ago which is really nice but unfortunately it's a size 8 and I'm not anymore! :o Do the Next clearance stores still do the Special Purchase suits?

Or, does anyone know where I can get a black suit v. cheap (ie. a women's version of the Asda £19 one) but still look smart?

I'm not underestimating when I say I'm brassic!

Have you checked out your local charity shops? When money is short these should be your first port of call.

If you can't pick up an actual suit you may be able to find a black jacket & closely matched skirt or trousers seperately.

Good luck with the interview by the way!
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • Matalan is normally a good shout, or even Tesco/Asda

Good luck in the interview :D

Thanks very much for the reply.

Not got time to go round the charity shops unfortunately, I'm working all week and won't have time to look. Was hoping for perhaps a good deal on in a supermarket/shop in a retail park so I can go one evening after work.

    Anyone seen any in Primark?

I can't say I have looked properly, but when walking past M&S recently they seemed to have some pretty nice suits at fairly competitive prices.

I've just peeked at their website and on some of them you get £10 off if you buy a skirt and jacket or trousers and jacket etc. The one I've just looked at would work out at £40 for 2 pieces.

I picked up a decent enough suit on the sale for *thinks* jacket was a tenner i think and trousers £6 - not alot more before reduction

Damn can't get to Peacocks. Are the sales still on?

Haven't dared to shop lately in case I buy anything!

What about TK Maxx? You can find some good stuff there.

I love next suits but I sometimes buy the odd black suit from Tesco Sainsbury's or Asda, they are really cheap and not bad quality to be fair.
I have to wear suits most days and I like to keep my more expensive one's for best!

    Good luck with the interview!
