Santander Faster Payments ?
Comments

New payments online should go straight away, the old 'rule' of first payment sent by BACS no longer applies (I've tested this myself with a new Bill Payment yesterday that was sent first time by FP).I can transfer money between my Santander online accounts instantly but I've never been able to send money to an 'outside' account by faster payments.
I was told originally by an advisor that for people I'd not paid before it would take four working days. Ok, fine, I thought if that's what it takes then fair enough. But when paying the same people using the same details another time I still don't get the option for FP!0 -

Do you save those details? Do you have a drop-down menu of regular payees: 'gas', 'water', 'council tax', etc. or do you enter it every time afresh?
It seems, since a week or two, the FP logo (flag) has been carted off to the knacker's yard and won't show-up any more, as FP has become the new standard.0 -

I noticed this too. All the payments I've sent recently seem to have gone faster payments. I'm glad it's consistent now, I kept getting caught out by when things did and didn't go FP in the past (e.g. over limit, twice in 24 hours, first time I'd paid that payee).
Also, Glitter123 mentioned above that internal transfers between accounts weren't working. I had the same issue yesterday evening and early this afternoon, but it worked fine when I tried again just now. I was starting to panic as my rent is due tomorrow, and I needed to move some money out of my savings!0 -

Just opened a savings a/c with Santander, which holds all my spare cash to be used during the month so FP is important to me.
I tested FP by sending £1 to various destinations and they arrived within a few minutes. :T
A few days later I tried to tx £1000 to my Halifax Reward a/c to get the reward, but the tx was rejected (had to dig around the website to find that out), and when logging on later I discovered my acount had been locked.
When I rang to find out why, I was told it was because the £1000 was unexpected since I'd only transfered £1 before. I was advised not transfer £1 in the future!
I guess the £1 transfers may be confusing things, but it could be that transfers over a certain amount may set alarms bells ringing at Santander Towers the first time they go through.
Fortunately, the timing of the £1000 tx was not important but it could have been. So, if you've just opened your a/c my advice would be to try some test FP's using the amounts you would expect to use, so any problems like this can be cleared up before your FP timing is important.Wearing my other one today.0 -

You were doing a fantastic impression of a scammer; functionally testing an account before ransacking it!
"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

Well, I always like to check my payments before sending large amounts. Guess I'd rather lose £1 and the use of my account for a few days, rather than £1000!
It's the first time I've had this problem... way of the world I suppose.Wearing my other one today.0
