I've had loads of problems with Santander payments and have been complaining for a while now. Eventually it was passed to a specialised dept and the £300 transfer limit cap that was on my account (but wasn't supposed to be) was removed.
I was then able to send FP up to the daily limit of £1000.00.
However just recently (probably about a week as you say) the FP message you usually see when sending money has gone and it looked like all the payments were being sent as bill payments. That wasn't the case though and they did actually go as FP. Lord knows what's going on with them now.
Contact them. Don't wait for them to sort it out.Herman - MP for all!

All Santander payments seem to go 'faster' without a visual indication. (As of January 1st, all payments have to arrive the next day as the latest.)
On Thursday I sent a payment from Santander to my Natwest savings account. There was no flag showing it was a faster payment, nevertheless when I checked 1/2 hour later, it had arrived.
Did you actually send payments or were you just looking for the FP logo?0 -
No I haven't sent the payments as the FP symbols and wording didn't appear on screen (as they always have done) prior to the confirmation.
Have just done a payment and it has gone through as an FP even though there was nothing to state it was so it looks like they've just removed the wording from the page (poss in line for the 01 Jan changes?).............not really hyelpful, but that's Santander for you
It's a shame their C/S didn't mention this when I sent them a secure message last week !!0 -
This morning I sent 3 separate £1000 payments to the same Santander account (not trusting the higher limit applies - but clearly it does now)
There is currently (since 23rd Dec) an online problem with making internal transfers also , so you must phone the general number and the CS member can perform this for you until it's working again......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Faster Payments is working up to £100,000 now as long as you're sending to a bank that accepts FP's. New/Exisiting Bill Payments, Standing Orders and Transfers should all be sent by FP.0

Internal transfers (between linked accounts) are now in the "Quick Transfer" section (previously used for FP).0 -
I can transfer money between my Santander online accounts instantly but I've never been able to send money to an 'outside' account by faster payments.
I was told originally by an advisor that for people I'd not paid before it would take four working days. Ok, fine, I thought if that's what it takes then fair enough. But when paying the same people using the same details another time I still don't get the option for FP!0
