Im afraid I dont have much knowledge about those usb dongles if thats what you're asking about but in case you didnt know then I thought i'd mention that you can use your smartphone as a wifi hotspot. If you already have the right phone and contrct then thats no additional cost to you!
You may know that already but if not then you need a smartfone with a decent data allowance in the contract and its prob best for use now and then rather than lots of use which may go over your data allowance.
I have an android smartphone with 1 gb data and use my fone as a hotspot at least once a week for lots of different things. Never go over my data allowance.
hope thats in some way useful.
apologies if not!!

Sorry, I've no idea what you want - unless it is a MiFi device over Mobile Broadband. If you've go good coverage, 3UK is hard to beat, although NO mobile network provides connectivity cheaper than a cable or ADSL service provider.0

Hi
Thanks for your replies
I meant something like this:

not a dongle.
A hotspot which a few devices can use for wifi access.
The t-mobile option looks good.
I know about tethering - without going into all the details that's not what I'm looking for right now.
Thanks for all your help!0 -
The Three version is available in a pay upfront package for £134.99.
This covers the first 12 months or 12GB or usage - so very good for fairly light usage over a whole year. Obviously, a bad move if you plan to use much more data than this. They have an £85 package covering the first 3 month or 3GB as an alternative.
Three's PAYG plan costs after the inclusive amount are £2/day for 500MB max, £10 for 1GB over a month, £15 for 3GB over a month or £25 for 7GB over a month.
Another option may be an unlocked device (probably expensive) and then using a giffgaff SIM with a gigabag goodybag - £12.50 for 3GB of data for 1 month, various other prices available. http://giffgaff.com/goodybags#data0 -
I have one of these. I bought it because I wanted something that came unlocked and I could use it with local SIMs when abroad.

It isn't cheap and (in common with other USB charged mobile telephony devices) it can't usually run 24x7 but I've found it very "faff free". For me it was very logical.
I've had a selection of UK SIMs in it and one Spanish SIM and it was super with all of them.
I wondered about the "3" devices you see with alternative firmware sold unlocked but I wanted something that "just worked" and for me this did.
If you want something for 24 x 7 I would buy a Draytek 2820n or similar and stick a USB dongle in it.0
