    Happy New Year!

I spent my NYE looking after the bloke who has a really bad cold and the mad pup who belongs to one of his work mates. Not a bad way to spend the evening snuggled up with a rather large puppy while he suffered from his cold on the other side of the room. :)

Went for a run again yesterday afternoon, was less painful than I expected it to be - albeit a very slow run and extremely muddy. Have also logged back in to myfitnesspal and am planning to gt back in to the habit of tracking my food and exersize as I know I've gained some weight back since I got lazy and stopped in summer.

Handed the mad pup back to her owners, was assaulted by their cats and had their son stare intently at the zip on my jacket until he couldnt resist and launched himself at it - which happily scared the cats away if nothing else.

Couple of surveys done on onepoll, both their daily target and my personal target met on swagbucks for the day.

Also busy rearranging books on my kindle in to the 'to read' collection to make them easy to find, as I scrolled back to the page showing the earliest downloads as yet unread on it and remembered that back then I only downloaded things I really wanted to read instead of my 'buy everything free' approach 12 months later (which itself is 12 months ago now). Once again I've set myself a 300 book aim for the year on goodreads, am already 4 books done as I read some shorts on the kindle last night. Am thinking if I can put 100 books in to the collection it'll keep me busy for a while plus means I'm looking through the early downloads to see if I've picked any up in paperback/read them elsewhere since I bought them so can delete them from the Kindle completely.

Had an email from amazon after I chased up the non-delivery of a dvd I ordered for Christmas, given the choice of money back or a replacement posting, so the money should be back on my gift certificate account in the next couple of days.

Amazon gift certificate balance has increased by the expected amount this morning.

Finished another book on the kindle and am half way through another but its crashed again so am waiting to see how long it takes to reload this time whilst browsing the current Kindle e-reader family, mines 2 years old so well out of warrenty so probably worth looking in to replacing it, and possibly even taking this one out to my mums apartment for using while I'm on holiday if it's going to keep being unreliable for everyday use.

Done the money juggle, looks like this month will be tight as am still waiting to find out what my electricity bills will be for the new place - and for the final bills from the old place, Christmas and New Year close downs are a pain!

Had a good look at my CT bill, there is no mention of the single person discount on the paper work the total bill as expected is a little less than the total from the old address but looking at the paper work from that there was mention of the 25% discount and the subsequent reduction, luckily my new council has a 'self service' website so have sent a request for my CT to be reassessed, with any luck I'll find I have to pay less in the Feb payment.

Having got fed up of my Kindle still playing up I've downloaded Calibre and am in the middle of copying the library to it so I can have a good sort out - already deleted 4 ebooks by an author I didn't enjoy, and can from calibre do that alot more easily than I can from the Kindle's own menus with any luck clearing some space will help sort some of the problems with it while I save towards it's replacement.

Finally had confirmation from my old landlords that they're happy with the condition I left the house in, so will ideally have a large sum of money heading back in to my bank account very soon. :D

Had the long awaited phone call to tell me my new sofa is in the warehouse so have delivery booked for Wednesday morning, I cannot wait as it'll mean I can pack the spare quilt away, start looking for new curtains as I really dont like the brown ones already up, and they're incredibly thin - you can see through them from indoors! So want something nicer and lined to help the insulation out, then I'll think about the bedroom ones too as they're cream and equally thin which will drive me nuts when we have long days and short nights.

Not a happy bunny this morning, the sofa delivery didn't go well - the delivery people couldnt get it in, apparently the arms are too high (and its the same height all round) but they did get the chair in which is the same height, and depth and wider than the living room door.

Waiting for them to get back to the store now so we can see what can be done, possibly another crew coming out to attempt to deliver or start messing around reordering the sofa style with removable arms, and returning the original one which I suspect is going to be expensive.....

Second attempt at delivering the sofa booked for friday morning. Fingers crossed.

Old LA have finally managed to get hold of the ex who has approved the release of the deposit in to my bank account. Refund from the old CT has been paid too only £20 but much better in my account than theirs and have resubmitted the final gas and electric readings as they seem to have got lost since i phoned them in. That has reminded me that I've still not had an electric bill for the new place, but cant find the paperwork from the letting agent which tells me who supplies the flat at the moment.

Today I report nothing of any real use, but have made a start photographing some of the large numbers of books currently residing in boxes under my bed to post them on the local fb selling pages, and have updated greenmetropolis and amazon (for the very small number listed on there now). With any luck some will find their way in to the hands of other people who will read them.

Letter this morning from the council with my amended CT bill, means I only have to pay another £100 next month, which slightly mitigates the annoyance at needing to shell out another £75 for a 3 seater sofa with removable arms instead of the 2 seater I wanted.
