I pretty much was.....long hair, permanently looked like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards (although generally I'd actually thrown myself through it head first). ;)

Best kind of hair to have. You don't want the pristine "not done anything" hair, nor the fallen out of a tree/bike/climbing frame/bank that I always seemed to end up with...

Christ pristine 'not done anything hair' would pretty much wipe out my entire lie in, I'm rather proud of the fact that when I dont need to wash it I can get up and leave the house in under 10 minutes including time to have a brew!

Of course once upon a time I allowed my mother to cut me a fringe, when it started to grow out I really did like like Cousin It. Never have had a fringe again and never plan to.

You must drink far more quickly than I do. I can leave in 10 minutes, but no brew...

Kettle on is the first thing I do, admittedly I use small cups in the mornings too so it does cool fairly quickly and doesn't take long to drink, but I get a proper sized brew as soon as I get to work.

Today am feeling distinctly unimpressed, the colleague who is off sick has a 2 week sick note so I'm now on two full weeks of earlies, and won't be having a day off for another 20 days as they can't get my Friday shift covered, meaning I at least get a lie in Friday if not any other day.

Am trying to work up the courage to ask for the phone numbers of two of my customers who have been distinctly flirty lately but I am a wuss, and they are two I have nothing in common with to find an excuse to swop numbers (like a common interest in scuba which got me the number of one guy I know from work when I saw him on a night out a couple of weeks back).

Well what's attracting you to them - take it from there?

Erm the fact that one is not only lovely to look at but a nice guy, the other is less lovely to look at but great to talk to and always makes time to come over for a chat when I'm not busy. I'm not sure 'I fancy you want my number' is the sort of thing which would work with either of them, albeit am sure it would work with some of my other customers if I actually did fancy them.

The main problem is getting either of them when there are no other customers/my colleagues around to actually attempt it - had a chance to try to give one my number yesterday but bottled it :o

That and the fact I've said I don't want to end up dating/seeing anyone in any way related to the place I work. That said the lovely to look at nice guy has said today he's planning to leave in the next 12 months, and am sure I could justify the other as he also works elsewhere too....

I'm now home and need to get stuck in to my OU assignment as its due this evening, I have about half in note form so need to get that written up and fleshed out then the rest, which shouldn't be too horrendous. After its done I'm hoping one of my mates will be back from a visit to court in Essex so I can meet him for a drink (and get male perspective on my utter hopelessness when it comes to getting those numbers from someone who knows them both too).

Assignment submitted, can't pursuade any of my friends out to the pub, my guy friend appears to still be driving as he's not answered my text so will have to try to get him to come see me at work for a coffee tomorrow for the male perspective/telling off/advice.

So have opened a bottle of wine and put a kids DVD on while I wander around having a bit of a tidy up since the house is a pig sty again - how on earth do I make such a mess, living alone and spending so little time here?

In the mean time I have peas in veg stock with a healthy dollop of cider jelly from the gammon I cooked in the slow cooker last night, am planning to shred some of the left over gammon and make a pea and gammon soup for the freezer but for that to work I need to stop eating chunks of meat on bread with ketchup and cold mash (left over from dnner last night).

    It happens...

On the bright side today - while tracking down a gas leak, the settee had to be pulled out. This meant it got hoovered under... :T

Yes, it probably is sad to be happy about that... :rotfl:

Now I'm confused - how did you get cider jelly from slow-cooked gammon?

I do that quite a bit. Though without the bread, ketchup and mash...

On the bright side, a high protein diet is probably good for you. No that's not a straw I'm clutching...
